A lesbian police officer might have helped save his life, but House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana is still planning to speak at a conference for an anti-gay group.
Scalise will address the Family Research Councils annual Values Voter Summit on Oct. 13 in Washington, D.C. The FRC is an anti-abortion, anti-gay conservative group and lobbying organization.
FRCs President Tony Perkins wrote a memo about the upcoming appearance, referencing the June shooting at a Virginia baseball field where Scalise and other Republicans were practicing for an upcoming charity game. The congressman was shot in the hip.
There were times when we wondered if House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) would ever speak at VVS again, the memo read. But next week, the miraculous recovery of my good friend will literally take center stage, as Steve makes a return trip to the biggest gathering of pro-family conservatives in the country after a shooting that rocked the country. For so many Americans, seeing him back at work, defending our values, has been an answer to prayer ― and we look forward to celebrating his incredible journey back to health.
One of those credited with helping save Scalises life and the lives of others in June was Officer Crystal Griner, an openly gay member of the Capitol Police Department, who was working as part of Scalises security detail along with Officer David Bailey. Griner was shot in the ankle while on duty that day, and was later hailed as a hero for her service.
Many lives would have been lost if not for the heroic actions of the two Capitol Police officers who took down the gunman despite sustaining gunshot wounds during a very, very brutal assault, President Donald Trump said at the time.

Is she a lesbian cop or a cop!
Why are they calling a pro-values group “anti” anything?
Like basically they’re “anti-gay” for having the opinion that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Not as bad as cops having to protect black lives matter protestors.
Yes, the saving of his life should be worth his soul. /s
Let’s assume it’s true that the cop (who was doing the job the job that she was being paid to do) truly did save Scalise’s life. Does that mean that Scalise must approve of all aspects of the woman’s lifestyle? Think about the absurd logic behind that. Suppose that some Democrat legislator was saved by a cop who was a racist. Does that mean that the Democrat should abandon his opposition to racism? Or suppose that a Democrat was a great opponent of the tobacco industry, and then was saved by a cop who was a smoker. Would anyone expect the Democrat whose life was saved to suddenly change his position on smoking/tobacco control?
because libs are “for” everything, therefore anyone who opposes those views must be “anti-” whatever it is.
very, very simplistic way of viewing things, but thats a lib for you.
Dishonest editor. Not being for gay marriage is not at all the same thing as being against people who are gay.
Telling someone who is marching off to an eternity in hell that they should repent, and turn away from their sin - is love, not hate.
Telling someone who is marching off to an eternity in hell that you 'embrace, and celebrate' their life choice to march off to an eternity in hell is hate, not love.
The FRC headquarters was targeted, with the help of the SPLC, by a gay leftist who shot a security guard.
One of your faggots tried to commit a mass murder by shooting up the FRC offices but was stopped by a heterosexual security guard. Tell you what, call it even.
I don’t understand if sexual preferences is not to be questioned, why is it the group that defends sexual rights is the first to use those preferences to create division and bigotry?
She was a cop. She did her sworn duty heroically.
That has nothing to do with who she would have sex with.
He must now change his politics because a lesbian stooped to save hiim?
Clear liberal fascist propaganda.
That’s why we have anti gay forums.
Anything preserving ourselves threatens the Marxist agenda and will be labelled in PC sedition as being antigay or racist.
Yes, he should have his junk cut off, and become her male-lesbian life partner, just out of sheer gratitude.
A lesbian police officer MIGHT have helped save his life,
bullsh!t head line followed by backtracking in the first sentence
I remain unconvinced that those two Capitol Police officers were even doing their job properly since they had to respond to the field from their vehicle which was in a parking lot at some distance from the protectee/Scalise. The “hero” label gets applied awfully quick and loose these days, IMO.
As to whether Greiner muff-dives, it has nothing to do with the job she’s paid to do. She can do as she wishes on her time as long as she does the job to standard.
Big deal.
