Yes I do, but you have to watch them. Just this week I saw one player hit for 3200 and an other for 2500. Neither one put more than 40 into the machines. Timing is the key. Both players come into my bar everyday and check out which machine is being played and how much is going into it. If you pay attention you can beat the machines.
I would not be surprised if he recently learned of a serious — maybe terminal — medical condition.
I posted this elsewhere but will repeat the basic idea — Paddock could have been successful making money at live poker or sports betting. Those activities are not subject to the usual casino oversight because they are making money off the volume of play or bets, and don’t care who wins the larger payouts. All the chatter about video poker comes from a combination of one remark he’s supposed to have made plus what his brother thought was happening.
However, I tend to agree that there’s a high probability of money laundering as the real foundation of these “winnings” but if anyone has the resources, try to find out if Paddock had any profile on pro poker circuits, maybe he was winning money there too. It helps to be a sociopath to be good at live poker. Also there is on-line poker (not video poker) and you can make money doing that although it depends on your residence as to what’s legally available to play.

Yup, once the machine is maxed out it is going to pay out. It might take 500 in before it pays out or it might take 2500 in before it pays out. So you wait and hope nobody hits it before you give it a go. Now I am talking about bar machines not Vegas machines but I’d bet they are similar.
I haven’t read anything to suggest he did not have guilt, remorse, or empathy.

I don’t believe that a psychopath would have sent the girlfriend away. He would not have cared if she got caught up in his scheme and was prosecuted.
I’m sure video surveillance coupled with saved browser activities is recorded at libraries especially because that’s where the criminals and other kiddy porn sickos are likely to do the creepy searches.

He could have used a VPN which would have made it more difficult to trace his browsing without having physical access to his computer.
The machine is set to pay off every X number of pulls within a range. If you watch it, and count the number of pulls someone does on it and it is near the range but has not payed off and they leave, your odds are better.
One of my parents neighbors worked at McCarren airport and did well using that method.
