Las Vegas officials held a press conference Wednesday revealing more information and insight into the deadliest shooting in U.S. history.
They believe the shooter, Stephen Paddock intended to escape the hotel room he was shooting from following the massacre and are actively looking for accomplices.
A Texas firearms dealer who had sold handguns to Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock in 2010 and 2011 remembers him coming into the shop last year with girlfriend Marilou Danley.
Paul Peddle, who owns B & S Guns in Garland, Texas, said Wednesday that Paddock didn't buy anything on the most recent visit but asked about a way to modify a gun to make it easier to pull the trigger.
He said Paddock had never purchased any long guns that could have been used in the attack on a crowd of concertgoers on Sunday.
Peddle said Danley didn't show any interest in guns.
He says at the city's Metropolitan Police headquarters that, "Our souls are stricken with grief for every American who lost" someone in Sunday night's shooting. He added, "We will struggle through it together."

Non fatal, non permanent injuries. Good news compared to initial assumed reports. So really 180 abouts seriously wounded.

Actually Jet A is easier than gasoline. It all has to do with vapor pressure and oxygen mixture. Neither one is easy to make an explosion with in a closed container like a fuel tank. Gasoline will ignite on the ground much easier than Jet A. However, gasoline has a vapor pressure much lower than Jet A. Thus in a closed system the gasoline vapors will expel any air from the outside trying to get into the tank. It will not be explosive despite what the movies show. There "just aint" enought oxygen in the tanks to make it go bang.
The same thing can be said for Jet A but it has a higher vapor pressure than gasoline so its explosive potential is greater in a closed system.
I don’t find it especially revealing that they are looking for accomplices. That would seem a “must do” part of any investigation of this type.
As for the aviation fuel, it makes me wonder if they have more than just a “possibly theory” regarding that point.
Some of this seems like speculation.
I’m guessing the police are also just trying to figure things out too. With all the stuff left in the car, and perhaps in a spot where he couldn’t shoot it from his room - that might indicate he was hoping to get back to it to escape.
Or, the idea of others that failed their tasks.
I found it odd, before knowing about any explosives, that he didn’t rig a bomb at the door to his room - kill himself and whatever cops outside that he could see with his cameras. It is even more perplexing now that I know he had a bunch in his car.
Although I know with me, if I have to make more than two or three trips into the hotel room I get pretty lazy. ;)
But the sheriff did not say what the note said. He feigned no knowledge of what was written on the yellow pad, but did say it was not a suicide note.

Maybe moved the time table up some. Is there any reason?
Notice he chose a room literally right next to the stairwell.
He would need to stop shooting before police had managed to cut off escape routes and then just slip out the door into the adjoining stairwell and head down to the garage.
Given the elaborate camera setup, was he listening to the police scanner? Maybe some of the pausing between bursts was to listen to police transmissions.
The fact he had no body armor tells me he was not serious about an escape plan. He could have had it on under baggy clothes or dressed like a LEO type officer of some kind.

This diagram tells us why the second room window was broken out, even though it does not have a good sight view of the venue. It does have a good sight view of the fuel tanks at the airport while the other does not, but has an easy shot view of the venue.
