It’s basic stoichiometry. Without the proper fuel and air mixture, she won’t go “bang.”

What would make them blow? Sparks from the bullet’s impact?

Well if had been Jet-A, (kerosene) it would be pretty hard to light.
But if it was LL100 (avgas) fire a few rounds into the tank, then start shooting at the pavement under the tank, pretty soon a spark would happen.

Those were nearly half a mile away.
The concert was nearly one-quarter mile away.

Never heard of this site. Won’t go to a site if an excerpt contains such horrendous English usage.

More and more it appears the guy had a plan. A major plan for maximum damage to be inflicted. A somewhat smaller version of 911 events. isn’t this the way muzzies plan things?

The tank is rolled steel plate, steel is relatively cheap and life cycle is determined largely by section lose (rust). Much like bridges.
Former pilot, owner of two planes, attacks the airport fuel tank.
Are you reading envy? Cause, I sure am!
Somehow these wingnuts are never engineers, else this stuff would get supremely ugly.
There’s no time for indoctrination in an engineering degree. Speaking from personal experience.

Good, those were rounds that didn’t get aimed at people.
Stupid target list.
