A 2013 video shows the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, turning her back when asked to swear to uphold the Constitution.
On Saturday, President Donald Trump called out Carmen Yulín Cruz, the mayor, for her poor leadership ability in a tweet. The day prior, Cruz had been critical, saying, If anybody out there is listening to us, we are dying, and you are killing us with the inefficiency.
Cruz first became mayor of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, in 2013. When taking the oath of office, Cruz delayed repeating the words that she would uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States, turning her back to the woman administering the oath for a long moment.

Someone should have pulled out 40 years ago.
It is time we cut all ties to that island, and sent all of them back, minus those who were willing to serve , or have served.
Those on welfare here can go back since they speaks their own language, and fly their own flag.
Well then, if she doesn’t want to be part of the USA, we shouldn’t force her.
Withdraw all troops now and stop all aid.
Puerto Ricans are US citizens. We may not like how the island has been mishandled, but we can’t simply say “piss off” to them.
I would gladly support their independence and wish it would happen, but until then, they are US citizens with the same rights as the rest of us, except they don’t get to vote for President and have no voting Senators or Representatives.
