(S)aints Coach Sean Payton: More Americans Killed by Guns, Than From All U.S. Wars Combined

Ever since the tragic shooting in Las Vegas Sunday night, legions of celebrities who have very little knowledge of guns, criminal psychology, mental disorders, or any helpful information. Have taken to Twitter or gone on television to offer their “solutions,” to the problem of mass shootings in America.

The latest such incident of ill-informed advice, in the sports world, comes from New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton.

On Tuesday, Payton responded to the heinous Las Vegas attack by tweeting claims that, since 1968, more Americans have been killed by guns than have been killed on all battlefields throughout the whole of the American experience.

Payton tweeted:

Note how he followed the claim with the hashtag “common sense.” Ironically, if we look at this death claim comparison via common sense we quickly see it is a a facade.

For example, the number of Americans killed on the Civil War battlefield alone was approximately 620,000 and the number killed in World II was 418,000. From those two wars alone we are already at 1,038,000. Add the approximate 115,000 from WWI, the 35,000 from Korea, and the 58,000 from Vietnam and we are at 1,246,000 without even considering the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Spanish American War, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Iraq, and others.

NFL doubling down on the stupidity. And isn't it peculiar how the strongest supporters of gun control tend to have serious ethical and legal issues of their own? Just the tip of the iceberg, Charles Rangel, aside from his tax evasion problems, should've been arrested back in 1972 for obstruction of justice, if not aiding and abetting in the murder of NYPD officer Phillip Cardillo. Fmr NY Assy speaker Sheldon Silver, on trial for corruption. Jesse Jackson Jr., did time for embezzlement. Fmr Cong. Corrine Brown facing similar charges. This one's a doozy, fmr Cong Leeland Yee, he introduced legislation that would've effectively nullified the 2A, he was forced to resign because in fed prison for....wait for eeeet...GUN RUNNING. Oh, yeah, remember Bernie Ward, the hoplophobic left wing talk radio host? He was gonna put Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity in their place. Guess what? He's spending the rest of his miserable life as a registered sex offender after doing time for kiddie porn. And speaking of pervs, don't get me started with soon to be fmr Seattle mayor Ed Murray, who's a member of Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety and a supporter of Shannon Watts, aka gun control Barbie over at Moms Demand Action (sounds like a "mature" porn site doesn't it?). He's under investigation for abusing his 8-yr-old cousin. And it's the same as it ever was. One of the first acts of gun control, the Sullivan Laws of NY, what the gun grabbers don't tell you is WHO those laws are named for, Big Tim Sullivan, a Tammany Hall kingpin even more corrupt than the Clintons. He wanted to make the streets of NYC safer, for him and his cronies as well as the muggers and gangsters in his back pocket. Back around 1990 the Gun Violence Death Clock was put up near Times Sq. It was funded by Robert Brennan, a junk bond dealing scam artist who makes Bernie Madoff look like Mother Theresa. He had just gotten out of the joint for securities fraud and other such niceties. I'm sure he had a pragmatic reason for performing this public service.Hey, if I scammed all those old folks out of their life savings, I too would be scared out of my wits if they, their kids or grandkids has easy access to firearms. Just sayin'
