I very seldom see one of these types of experts on the tube make a lick of sense.
They are so used to talking in circles both on the lecture platform and in the faculty lounge that they just can't help themselves when asked to speak out on their specialty. Sort of like congresscritters.

I've done a few media interviews in my profession over the years, and I avoid TV interviews at all costs. There's simply no way a trained professional can adequately cover all of the angles of a specific point in the short block of time allocated for a TV audience that has the attention span of a fruit fly.
Something to keep in mind here is that many of these media people are dumber than bags of rocks, so it's not like they can understand what the professional is saying anyway.
TV interviews are just bad news all around. LOL.
