NEW YORK (Reuters) - Americans are increasingly confident in the news media and less so in President Donald Trumps administration after a tumultuous year in U.S. politics that tested the publics trust in both institutions, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Tuesday.
The poll of more than 14,300 people found that the percentage of adults who said they had a great deal or some confidence in the press rose to 48 percent in September from 39 percent last November. Earlier this year, Trump branded the entire industry as the enemy of the American people.
The percentage of those who said they had hardly any confidence in the press dropped to 45 percent from 51 percent over the same period.

Definitely didn’t call me
Fake news.
FAKE
I think we should take a poll to see how many believe Rooters. My vote is No, I do not believe them.
People trust us...says the media.
Bwhahahaha.
Just as my comment this morning on a poll that suggests a decline in American firearms ownership: very likely bogus and not very likely an accurate representation of people’s trust (or distrust) in the elite media.
They have gone from oversampling democrats to oversampling MSNBC editors.
There, fixed it .....
Well, the pollsters gave us President Hillary Clinton, right?
So I guess we can believe them on this issue.
I’ll call BS.
Said no one really popular anywhere.
The press, branded the ‘enemy’ by Trump.................

Bull!
The poll of more than 14,300 people
Uh huh.
Calling it as it is...BULLSHIT!!!! If that was the case the NFL and the mediawhore news outlets ratings would have gone through the roof!!!
Guns are flying off the shelves. More and more women are arming themselves.
Lies. No one I know trusts the media.
10. If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive. Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
They view the press as the underdog vs. Trump.
12. "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
It's always about cutting off Trump's support, cutting off his sympathy.
You can always spot this stuff once you know what to look for.
Fake news.
BTW: Is Tom Petty dead or alive?
