Howdy, PRO!
LOL! I imagine you had a long shopping list today. Ready for the next round? :-)
A quiet day here. Didn’t go anywhere but outside for a bit with Churchill to let him get some exercise.
Cloudy and a little cool but no rain. It’s supposed to warm up into the 80s the rest of the week and that’s comfy enough to suit us.
Maybe you ticketed my brother. He was ready to fight when he got home.
I asked him, “So bro, how fast were you going?” He hesitated then said, “Uh, about 30.”
I went into the bathroom, closed the door and said, “I don’t remember the speed limit signs saying “About 30”.
Yeah, Ogden was like Alice’s restaurant: you could get anything you want in Ogden.
The Atomic hand grenade came with a Silver Star wired to the pin.
Hey, whoa!
Good job honoring Tx tonight! wOOt!!
As an Army friend always says: "If you're going to be one, be a big red one."
Howdy, radu! (((hugs)))
How are you this fine evening? It was a beautiful sunny day here. Not too hot...like 86 was the high I think. Nice breeze kept it feeling cooler.
Well, hubby got the lawn mowed. It looks soooo pretty now. I love St. Augustine grass. It’s cool underfoot.
I can tell Fort Riley stories for days and days.
I was there as a Boy Scout in ‘62, with the Kansas Army Guard about five times in the 70s, then in the 2000 - 2012 I bid on about a dozen projects there and built about nine buildings and two and a half miles of concrete tank road.
I’ve been in field biv on the bluff above Funston (marshaling area where the Spanish Influenza may have started) and then got hit by a microburst and then a tornado on the same night.
I’ve had my Duece-and-Half charged by a buffalo and I have set an acre of prairie on fire.
On Riley I have seen great military projects and fiascos beyond understanding. One of my competitors screwed up the small airfield historic runway so bad they had to take it out of service for over two years. Another finished a building over a year late. A year!
Staying near there I met Mikhail Gorbachev and helped him get into his hotel room he was locked out of one evening.
I had dinner with Frank White the Gold Glove Second Baseman for the Royals.
Howdy, LUV! *hugz*
Nice to hear y’all haven’t gone back into summer heat. Maybe that’s finally over for the year. :-)
It wasn’t quite as warm here and it was cloudy. Still comfy enough for short sleeves - - barely. Spent sometime outside with Churchill while he wandered from one patch of catnip to another to roll around in it. He’s such a goofball. But hey, it’s exercise and he needs that. LOL
Indeed.
I need to go share your picture of that flag in Tel Aviv to my followers on FB.
Rockhouse Pizza Plus in Ogden was one of my hangouts. They had some excellent food there...
That was my last duty station, 16th MASH and then redesignated 16th CSH (Combat Support Hosp.) with the inflatable upgrades and JP4 generators.
An MP gave me a speeding ticket in my '69 Olds 442 on my last day of service 16Jan75, as I cleared Post. I never paid it.
No hard feelings..?
In a unit field exercise at Riley, a simulated gas attack with smoke grenades turned into a grass fire that was quite destructive.
Ring a bell?
Yep, exercise is exercise and I’m glad the ol’ boy got to get out and prowl around his domain! Nice that it was still short sleeves weather...but not miserably so. :)
Good evening, radu...I decided, NO homework tonight. Tonight I will try for a little earlier bed.
I tried for midnight last night, but found the Las Vegas thread....I had to finally quit at 2a. LOL!
He hasn’t been allowed outside on his own for a little over a year now. He’s no longer spry and would be unable to get away from dogs should any show up. DON’T want another experience like we had with Buckwheat being attacked.
So we go out with him wearing the harness and leash. The others who are outside hang out with us as we walk around but only Church rolls around in the catnip he runs across.
Whatever works! The exercise keeps his appetite up and the meds appear to be doing their job with his kidneys.
Welcome to the Canteen, COBOL2Java...we thank your Daughter and Son-in-Law for their service to our country.
And thanks for the additional information.
No homework! GOOD decision! A good night’s sleep will do a world of good.
I spent all night following that thread, too, and it was after 6 a.m. when I finally crawled off to bed. I’ll be trying for an earlier bedtime tonight too. :-)
I’m so glad he’s feeling spry again. it was kind of scary there for a while! Does catnip grow wild there? If so, I think I know why so many kitties show up on your place. LOL!
