Washington (CNN) — Republican Sen. Thad Cochran wants his constituents -- and possibly President Donald Trump, as well -- to know that although he's recuperating from a urological issue in Mississippi, he's not currently in a hospital.
"Thanks for the well-wishes. I'm not hospitalized, but am recuperating at home in Mississippi and look forward to returning to work soon," Cochran tweeted Wednesday afternoon....
"My physician told me today I am improving, but recommended I remain at home in Mississippi another week," Cochran said. "I will follow that advice. I will return to the Senate on October 16 in order to continue work on the appropriations process and participate in upcoming debates on the budget and tax reform."

‘Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., got lost on his way to a Senate Republican luncheon on Tuesday and ended up at the Democrats’ gathering instead, the Hill reported.
The Mississippi senator, who recently won an intensely ugly primary election against Tea Party-backed candidate Chris McDaniel, apparently forgot where he was going while navigating the halls of Congress.
“After exiting a Senate elevator on the wrong floor” Cochran re-boarded, the report notes. “He then found the right floor but turned away from the Senate GOP luncheon, a few yards from the elevator, to stroll the opposite direction, arriving at the Democrats’ weekly gathering a few hallways away.”
Cochran then entered the wrong room and chatted away with Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., until someone asked the longtime Republican senator if he planned on lunching with Democrats.
“Cochran didn’t seem to realize he was in the wrong place,” the Hill reported.’

I forgot this guy was still alive and in the senate. I guess that’s a good thing, since I haven’t heard about him voting against anything the party has been trying to pass.

So with Luther Strange and McCain leaving and Cochran in unknown health, it is possible that we will have a substantially improved Senate before we even get to primarying Flake and replacing Corker, etc...
We can only hooe, but it’s looking promising.

DJT had tweeted about a senator being in the hospital and that was thought to refer to Cochran. He (a/k/a his staff) was responding to that.
I hope it’s not serious, I’d weep for the resulting decline in Viagra sales in Mississippi.
