Not exactly cut in stone, but apparently ISIS says the shooter converted to Islam months ago. Per WMAL in Wash. DC.
What evidence for that?
Sounds like he had some dough. Heard he owned 2 airplanes.
I’m not too sure about that...but even assuming that this is correct...who, EXACTLY, claimed this? How do we KNOW it was ISIS that claimed it, vs. someone claiming to be speaking for ISIS.
My point is only that we should wait for the facts to become more established before assuming that any of them are true (other than that there was a mass shooting, and that 50 or so are dead, with 400 or so wounded - THAT is pretty well established at this point).
You’re telling me with a clean record you can get a fully automatic high caliber rifle?
First off, my thoughts and prayers to the victims’ and their families in this horrible time. This whole thing is a hot mess that is just maddening. I wouldn’t be surprised at the end of the day if ISIS and ANTIFA are in bed together in some disjointed sort of way. But the bottoms line is, this douche isn’t being paraded around as a right wing extremist so he’s a radical something or other the media would rather the sheep not know about.
I knew a guy who had a very impressive collection of WWII German weapons, including a belt-fed MG-34. He used to dress up in a Wehrmacht uniform and go out to the shooting range and film VHS tapes of the weapons in action.
Anyhow, at 64 this guy could've easily amassed the resources required to build a collection of legally-owned automatic weapons. With no police record, as is being reported, it wouldn't have been very difficult if one was motivated.
$14,000. I know guys who spend that on electric guitars.
You can't say that unless you've never had some good molé washed down with Del Manguey mescal.
Some states have long allowed its citizens to own full auto weapons. Go to Gunbroker and then go to "Class 3" then go to machine guns.
Nevada happens to be one of those states that allows its citizens to own full auto. As an aside, there are numerous states that do so, and there are lots of full autos in private ownership. I'll be very, very surprised if this shooter was using a legally acquired full auto weapon.
He's not being paraded around because there isn't anything to parade right now.
No social media presence (as of yet). No police record. A brother he only spoke to a couple of times a year. He might not be a radical anything at all, just a crazy old man who snapped.
Anyhow, it may take some time to piece this together.
Looks like it came from ISIS’s “news agency” — and senior US officials are saying they were unaware of any such connection:

Oh, and fog of war skepticism is fair. But just even the Indonesian girlfriend there who has traveled to the Middle East makes this very suspicious IMO.
Yes, if it’s allowed by the state where you reside. The feds only care about the background investigation, the $200 tax and the signature of the top LEO in your city/county of residence.
Under law the media admitting this was an ISIS attack is considered a “statement against interest.” Let’s see if someone gets fired over these reports.
Really, isn’t that what this forum is all about?
Absolutely. Go to the nations gun show in chant illy va sometime. It’s a breathtaking and beautiful thing.
I have seen three video's so far of Antifa protest where someone yells Takbir with someone else responding Allahu akbar
From a couple of days ago in Sweden:
I frequently see Uzis and macs in the six k range.
No they don’t. They ONLY take credit where they’ve been involved.
I just saw/heard the video.
If that’s not an automatic weapon, then either there are 20 other shooters that no one is telling us about or the echo effect is completely insane.
