Just breaking. A lot of repots on Twitter from people.
True Pundit reported this:
An active shooter reportedly on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay bar Hotel in Las Vegas has gunned down at least one police officer and others.
If I heard it right, I think the suspect was at the Mandalay Bay, room 135, 32th floor.
Nbc saying Sunrise hospital is full and sending victims to other hospitals.
Guns are legal, legal owners don’t do these types of things.
One of the eye witnesses, a guy being interviewed by the Fox Reporter on the scene, said this was to be expected (I’m paraphrasing here) as Las Vegas is a Sanctuary City. The Fox Reporter said let’s not get political now, and cut the guy off from saying anything further about LV being a Sanctuary City, meaning could be an attack by Hispanic(s). We’ll find out, won’t we.
Scale question too. Individual room lights hard to make out at camera ranges I’ve seen so far. Been looking for muzzle flash myself, no joy.
General reaction I’ve seen from operators, regarding giant-cap drum reliability is ridicule. Whatever this was, it ran pretty steady. Next time I see or hear the slowdown then ? FTF, I’ll link it.
That would certainly fit given the reported FD numbers.
In some areas, particularly Chicago, gangs have broken into railway cars with knowh shipments..
There are many buildings in Vegas.. could be an echo.
Could be an echo. Correct.
Daily Mail has some graphic photos.
So it could have been 50 round magazines being changed out.
Thanks. What you say makes sense.
Those numbers are awful, but some signs of stabilization: flights are resuming at McCarran, which is about a mile from the shooting site.

scanner just reported another suspect likely on 4th floor of Mandalay.
Possible suspect located 4th floor Mandalay per police scanner
The commercial market is working on 250 and 300 rounders now - and that’s not without a valid commercial application. The Marines are seeking super high capacity drums for their M27 IAR which uses AR magazines.
However, most of those we *want* the idiots who do this sort of thing to buy those drums. The big problem these drums have is that most of them are unreliable as hell and are best used as range toys. Many mass shooters have started out with those and had to abandon the drum or weapon because it jammed. I’ve heard many people refer to them as idiot magnets.
I just heard it from a video that Fox News played. It was an automatic weapon a machine gun or an automatic rifle with a drum magazine.
Some people said that they heard two guns firing but, IMO, it was one weapon with the echos (reflecting off of another building) from that weapon sounding like another weapon.
That is what it sounded like to me, an old-fashioned belt-fed machine gun. Sure doesn’t remotely sound like any AK or AR.
