A pair of Republican senators are marketing their bill to legalize the beneficiaries of an executive amnesty program as a tougher alternative to a competing Democratic proposal, but immigration skeptics say the bills are hardly different in substance.
Known as the “Succeed Act,” the GOP bill would give legal status to younger illegal immigrants covered under the now-cancelled Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. It requires applicants to meet strict education or work requirements to be eligible for a green card and lays out a 15-year path to citizenship — 10 years in a conditional status period and then at least five years as a legal permanent resident.

There is no legal DACA and a GOP POS bill has no force until it is signed. Order their immediate expulsion, ignore the court orders that will come and seal them out.

Ronald Reagan promised us a one time amnesty, saying that would put an end to the problem. Then we had a second amnesty, because, well, it was to show we meant business the first time. Now both parties are proposing yet another amnesty, this time FOR SURE showing we’re serious.
Simple answer: Here’s your amnesty, please report the human traffickers and their location and when they are arrested and imprisoned for human trafficking across international borders, we’ll give you a green card. Because it’s not your fault you were brought here without consent...

That's a really important point.
Usually in a plea deal you're expected to allocute to the crime.
These people get something no citizen gets: amnesty from the original crime, amnesty for all the follow up crimes, no demand to identify the other criminals involved in the crime, no criminal record pardoned or otherwise, nothing.
It's unprecedented in American history. Foreign criminals have the right to commit crimes with impunity, no prosecution, no cooperation, and no record of it?
Breathtaking. They are truly privileged beyond us on a scale never seen before.
If they murder someone, what would happen? The police apologize for arresting them?
Oh Wait. That already DID happen, in San Francisco, and now we have DA's all across the country intentionally charging them with lesser crimes simply to avoid a triggering felony.
Beyond breath taking and into disgusting.
Just follow the MONEY and the VOTES. More important in DC than the Constitution, the LAW, American values, and of course...the American taxpayer.
And overall, cancel all work permits for illegal aliens. None. Zip.

When the decision was made in 1982 it was considered astonishing and outrageous. I remember hearing it in the car and almost drove off the road. Illegal aliens have a RIGHT to our tax dollars?! They can break into the country and their children get to use our schools, the ones we pay for?! Since when?!
It was an absurd decision that the decrepit leftovers from the Warren court made thinking that it would only affect a few people and places. Instead, it dramatically changed the country in ways the electorate would never have agreed to.
So is it legitimate? And why doesn't someone take up the issue and talk about overruling it with a law?
It can be done in Congress. Anytime.
A foreign-born national should have NO path to citizenship than that already inscribed in the law. And it is to be launched from their country of origin.
More than that, children born of parents who were not themselves legal residents of the US at the time of their birth, must follow the steps necessary to become a citizen, even though that would mean going back to the country of origin for some stipulated period, before they may apply, strictly in compliance with existing law.
If we allow them to be here, not deported, Plyler v. Doe gives them access to schools. Shame on us. Yes, I’d agree with deporting them immediately, whenever found. But, being realistic and offering a compassionate solution, it seems reasonable since they are in school, let them finish the current term. Now, for those not in school, for their illegal families, deport them immediately. Should put a bounty on any citizen that turns in an illegal, drags them by their ear to a ICE collection point. Bet we could rid the country of illegal aliens in days or weeks. Walmart could make money by turning them in as they enter the store, else on leaving and get their money for goods as well. Yep, make collecting and deporting illegal aliens a community affair.

Imagine that, the Republican and Democratic bills are basically the same. Why do we even put these a$$holes in office. We need to march on DC with more than pitch forks and water that tree of Liberty.
Come hell or high water they are going to give us 30 million illegal invaders as new Citizens and we sit back and take it up the bung hole, again.

DACA only exists because the GOP refused to stand up for the rule of law and the citizens.

They have no choice. They already cashed the graft checks. Spent the debt notes. And are living the dream.
We can not endure any more DACA mindsets, entitled, demanding law breakers or their relatives or progenies in this country. Send them home to enrich their own countries of which they are already citizens with all its rights and privileges.
