Puerto Rican born and raised, Colonel Michael A. Valle (Torch), Commander, 101st Air and Space Operations Group, and Director of the Joint Air Component Coordination Element, 1st Air Force, responsible for Hurricane Maria relief efforts, has the following comment:
They have the generators, water, food, medicine, and fuel on the ground, yet the supplies are not moving across the island as quickly as theyre needed.
Its a lack of drivers for the transport trucks, the 18 wheelers. Supplies we have. Trucks we have. There are ships full of supplies, backed up in the ports, waiting to have a vehicle to unload into. However, only 20% of the truck drivers show up to work. These are private citizens in Puerto Rico, paid by companies that are contracted by the government.. (link)
Meanwhile, amid floods and lack of power the Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulin Cruz, finds a way to get propaganda T-Shirts to politicize the tragedy on very fake news CNN.
Go figure.

Time to bring in the Military and Deliver the goods. Go around those idiots..
Do they want someone to come unscrew the caps on their waterbottles for them, too?
And just how are nuclear submarines able to assist in this effort?
Seems like an odd assertion, agreed. Probably erroneous.
send in military Moter pool Drivers and put those involved in using this to squeeze for more money on a list of people that cant be used by companies that have government contracts.
I think that is about the most that can be done about the situation.
where in that document does it says to send aid to PR ?
Draft all the Teamsters who refuse to drive. Pay them as Army Privates. If they refuse to drive, send them to Afghanistan.
Interesting. teamsters union here on US is getting volunteer union drivers to head down there.
I’ve seen this action at a teamster strike at a local factory. Main teamster office on E. Coast had to send out officials to W. Coast to straighten out the local boss to end the strike. Strike ended as soon as the big guys showed up.
Exactly, plus in a declared disaster zone. The Gov. of PR can't let americans be held for ransom. I expect this will be resolved quickly. Which way, dunno.
Are you an American?
Really?
They're carrying the water for the MSM's hype that this "debacle" in Puerto Rico is all Trump's fault because "he negatively controlled the weather by dropping out of Paris global warming thing, he's incompetent, he only likes whites and hangs with white supremacists, and we just need any excuse to impeach him over this disaster."
We are hearing a great deal out of Puerto Rico except what the Puerto Ricons are doing to help themselves. Sounds like a lot of waiting around for the sugar daddy USA to come and handle most everything.
Did someone say shoot Teamsters on sight?
In light of the devastation, two major hurricanes in less than a month, the need for martial law seems reasonable. In that case, I see no problem with using extraordinary means to save lives and prevent needless suffering or sabotage
That whining San Juan mayor must not know this is the reason for supplies not being delivered. It’s not Trump’s fault!
Remember that.
You know, I’m getting more than a bit fed up with all this stuff - I saw the mayor of San Jaun on the tv crying and screaming... “you’re KILLING us, with all your inefficiency and beurocracy blah blah blah blah” ...
I’m offended that anybody thinks this is my fault!
Yes, I am.
Apparently the difference between you and I is that
I don’t want the military arresting or shooting civilians.
