The Las Vegas Metro Police Dept. says the body cam footage absolutely justifies why police took down Michael Bennett at gunpoint during a search for an active shooter ... saying it was NOT about race.

Is Bennett’s stupidity “about race” too?
It was clear from reports that Bennett was running from the scene of a shooting, or from the sound of gunshots. Obviously this doesn’t mean he was in any way involved in the shooting. But just as obvious is the fact that police arriving on the scene would want to stop the fleeing Bennett and question him. When blacks have these little contretemps with the cops, they bear 95% of the blame when things go poorly.
And now the head of the Las Vegas police union is demanding an apology from the player.
“Now more so than ever,” said Steve Grammas, president of the Las Vegas Police Protective Association, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
So the police union is looking for an apology from the NFLPA union ... go ahead and hold your breath until you get one.
I had know idea the officers involved in this incident were Hispanic and black, but again it doesn’t make a difference.
There were reports of a shooting and they arrive to see a man disobeying their orders to get down and fleeing the scene. Of course he would be detained....white, black, Asian, or pink. And of course any police officer, white, black, Asian, or pink would have detained him.
By the way, I don’t Blame Bennett for fleeing the scene. He thought a dude with a gun was out and about and he didn’t want to be around if the bullets started flying. He probably didn’t listen to the police because he was in a panic. I totally get all of it. Everything in this scenario is reasonable until Bennett stars crying racism. It just gets so old.....
He should have gotten down like everyone else.

The thing is these players believe they are especially privileged.
He announced his status, he is frightened.
He mentioned his kids, he does love them, he needs to get off the BLM band wagon before he winds up dead, he is being used by the Left and believes their lies.
He IS a victum of his own ignorance and the Left and their lies.

Anyhow, the NFL is toast, and the guy just signed last year a 40 million dollar contract I do believe.

He lied about what happened. He owes the police an apology.
Video on another site shows police making two sweeps of the casino, warning patrons to leave. Most of the patrons were African-American as were several of the police officers. No one was harassed or profiled or detained and there was an orderly evacuation from what had been reported to be an “active shooter” incident. Police were trying to protect people, not “profile” them.
As the second sweep of the casino ended, someone called attention to a “runner” who turned out to be Michael Bennett. He was briefly detained due to his own behavior. Had police been looking for minorities to “take down” they overlooked dozens during the sweeps of the area.
Mr. Bennett’s description of the event does not seem to be consistent with the video evidence. I wonder why?

Bennett most definitely lied that the cops threatened him or were rough with him.
But I can’t see why he was detained. He claimed he was just running away from a supposed shooting. Is that wrong? One video showed a crowd of dozens of people - Were they all detained? Or if not, why was Bennett picked out of it?

I think if there is a shooting and you see someone running from the shooting, is it not reasonable to believe that he is the shooter?? To be clear he wasn’t tackled our roughed up but simply detained for about 90 seconds. The officers were polite and explained their reasoning. They don’t have time to have a conversation with every person on the spot. They have to neutralize the situation first, then make the determination. So this is the reason there is rampant protesting in the NFL?? Now, since the left does not have ability to admit they were wrong, they need to keep protesting to keep up the charade that this was such a miscarriage of justice. Typical left.

Once again a video that demonstrates jackshite. Dudes on the ground, yelling something along the line of “what’s goin on here” with a cop futzing apparently endlessly with the cuffs. I love these ,”videos”.
