In Ana Rodas room, right next to her closet, shes pinned a quote that reads, With God all things are possible.
The small decoration is just one element of a space that is not only adorned with words of encouragement but also pictures, letters and anything else Rodas holds dear to her heart.
Rodas, senior in FAA, has made a lot of sacrifices to get to this point. As an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala, she is now within less than a year of graduating from the University.
Rodas has spent 15 years living in the United States, and although she would like to continue, its not because she feels American. To her, that is simply a term.
When her parents decided to bring her here, it was more so about the opportunity to pursue higher education and a better quality of life. Both things have come true since her arrival, but even this countrys affluence hasnt shielded her from its moments of divisiveness.
Rodas said her main goal is to earn her bachelors degree and continue on to graduate school. Beyond that, she doesnt see herself spending the rest of her life in America because its been clear that she and other undocumented immigrants are unwanted.
She doesnt think that one decision is better than the other but believes that each individual instead of being forced out should have the right to choose.

Well, that makes two of us.
Bottom line, an illegal. at this point, get the degree, but then go home, take illegal family too. Good riddance.
>because its been clear that she and other undocumented immigrants are unwanted.<
Amen.
A degree in FAA. Federal Aviation Administration. Really?
My guess is that it’s probably some abbreviation for Fine Arts . . . Highly employable too.
But, during that 15 years she has exploited the welfare system to the nth degree.
Easy solution: student visa
Very commendable that she puts a Bible verse up. Now if only she would remind her parents about certain other things from the Bible, like being in submission to the authorities over us, not lying, not stealing, and not coveting.
From the day it was designed and launched by Obama, it has always provided DEFERRED action for two years. How convenient people forget that. People talk about it as if it grants permanent residency.
Trans? If not, homely is a compliment.
I know. She has benefit of free education, free health care, our culture, our uplifting. While I’d love to see her and her family deported today, letting her finish her degree with agreement to self-deport and for her family to leave once done, would be simpler (if it were only possible).
Deport, deport, deport.
And then deport some more.
Keep deporting until the rule of law is restored.
And that, girlie, is the problem.
DACA was always an illegal action by an illegal President to benefit illegal aliens.
If the GOP had one ounce of integrity they would not have allowed the Kenyanesian Usurpation.
Obama is not a natural born citizen.
His foreign national father made him a British subject at birth.
Failing that, if they had one gram of integrity they would have sued to stop DACA the day after he did it.
The truth is the GOP wants amnesty for the employers of illegal aliens just as much as Democrats want amnesty for the illegal aliens.
We need new Republicans.
Alexander, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, McCain, Rubio, Gardner, Burr, Tillis, Portman, McConnell, Thune, Cornyn, Cochran, Isackson, Blunt, Johnson, Toomey, Capito, Rounds, Fischer, Collins, Wicker, Sasse, Ernst, Young, Boozman and Shelby are all undocumented Democrats in R jerseys.
Bingo!
Regards,
I like her smile and she seems like a cheerful, happy and realistic person as suggested by the article. Her cheerfulness shows and that is always pretty on people.
It can’t be easy for her to remain cheerful in the face of having to leave the country when she graduates. She’s also realistic about her future. If I were in her position, I’d probably be bitter and vituperative and showing a scowl.
Before you get upset, I don’t like illegal invasion as much as anybody. But the parents of kids like this did a really, really stupid thing coming here illegally with their kids in tow. This young lady has done a lot to improve her life. I wish her well in life however this turns out for her.
and exile....
Leaders that create sanctuaries should be exiled
