Its a $100 million MTA project shrouded in secrecy, with 18 of them for tunnels and bridges. So what are they exactly?
The MTAs man in charge of the bridges and tunnels, Cedrick Fulton, dodged Carlins questions Wednesday.
I said no comment, he said.
Some MTA board members, including New York City Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg, say they know too little about the towers even with half the money already spent and some of the towers already up.
A lot of the board members felt they didnt have all the details they would have wanted, myself included, she said.
...
Its a bit mind-boggling that the MTA is approving $100 million for what appears to us to be big, decorative pylons, says John Kaehny, the leader of the watchdog group Reinvent Albany. What were asking for is transparency from the MTA.
CBS2 demanded answers from MTA Chairman Joe Lhota.
Carlin: Some of your own board members say they dont know the specifics.
Lhota: The base of these new pieces that are going up include whatever fiber optics are necessary for those Homeland Security items.
In other words, anti-terror technology. Could that one day include facial recognition? We dont know and Lhota wont say.
Im not at liberty to discuss that, he told Carlin.
So as more of these expensive towers rise, the mystery is tucked away inside them.

... or it could be an RF “Kill Switch”. If the authorities want to stop traffic for say a truck bomb threat, those things broadcast and any vehicle passing between gets it’s ignition system fried.
That sounds plausible.
The base of these new pieces that are going up include whatever fiber optics are necessary for those Homeland Security items.
Homeland Security means anti-terror on the surface; citizen "control" in the background.

Bingo. The "anti-terrorism" window dressing is to lull you into a false sense of security, while they watch and record every move we make.
"Kill Switch"...currently on Prime Video...
His wife finally realized that she could just hand him some money with that sandwich, but it turned out he was using the whole MTA conspiracy theory as an excuse to carry on with various female passengers.
That part of the story, sandwich but no money, eventually helped inspire the premise of Gilligan’s Island.
Charlie’s wife divorced him, married into the Fitzgerald family. Charlie ran for senate, and won.
It’s probably to keep the tunnels from being bombed. The whole thing was going to be financed by the payoff money rec’d from the terrorist groups overseas — that is, until Hillary lost the election.
You bet!
And "The Ballad of Casey Jones".
If it were just that then why all the silence from MTA?
I think it is Australian. My brothers and I had a record player when we were itty-bitty in 1954 or so. I was five years old. That record was one of our favorites.
It is weird that I can still recite most of that song.
I never heard it as a song, just read the poem when I was a kid. Can’t remember more than the first few lines, though.
I suppose it’s online somewhere. Who knows, maybe the song’s even on Youtube.
