Steve Bannon taunts Trump over Roy Moore victory: The people are '6-0 in these elections'
Washington Examiner ^ | 09/27/2016 | Naomi Lim

Posted on 09/27/2017 4:46:20 PM PDT by ForYourChildren

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon mocked President Trump on Wednesday for backing the so-called Republican establishment favorite Luther Strange over Roy Moore in the GOP's Alabama U.S. Senate seat runoff.

"We're 6-0 in these elections," Bannon told Sirius XM's "Breitbart News Daily," referring to "we, the people" and the slew of special elections held under the Trump administration. "President Trump is 5-1. Oops! Did I say that? 5-1."

Moore won the contest with about 54.6 percent to Strange's 45.4 percent, per the Associated Press.

Bannon, who returned to Breitbart News as chairman right after his departure from the White House, warned Trump to heed the base that propelled him to victory in November.

"Do not get on the wrong side of the football of your base. Listen to the people, please," Bannon said. "I know all the troublemakers at Politico and Axios are going to be tweeting that out so the president sees it."

Starting to think it’s true. We had a text exchange today. I gave him many legit reasons for DT supporting Strange-—first & foremost loyalty for Luther’s CORRECT pro-Trump votes on health care repeal, judges, and virtually everything else. Strange didn’t come out publicly with one single anti-Trump statement. Moreover he is STILL in office for 3 months with taxes & more judges coming up. Moore can’t help Trump til January no matter how “pure” he is.

Yes, Trump supported Strange because Strange has been loyal to Trump's agenda. So it's not to hard to see why Trump did that.

That said, Bannon and many here saw a Strange loss coming several weeks ago and wanted the McConnell guy out.

Everything considered, the good guy won, Senate RINO's are afraid, and Trump's base will shake it all off.

Bannon is great. Trump made a political miscalculation. No biggy. No harm done, all is fine. Trump is behind Moore 100%.

That's a very interesting point, that Trump still needs Strange to remain on the reservation for the rest of the year.

That was an angle I hadn't considered before.

Pinging others as this post is of interest...

Hmmm.

If you are such a good friend of Bannon's, why wouldn't you confront him privately on his text before making it public on FR, where the GOPe Globalists can capitalize on this post by driving a wedge between Trump and his Tea Party base?

We are to confront people privately before we go public, as per the book of Matthew; and ESPECIALLY since Bannon's text was private. (Public statements need to be rebuked or addressed publicly...but this reported statement was not public...

All that said, Bannon's "clueless" remark, if true, has more to do with the fact that long-time Tea Party conservatives need to remember Trump was a New York conservative, unschooled in the fine art of sniffing out the SorosUnipartyBushRoveEstablishmentarianGlobalists who always LIE about their conservative creds.

Anyway, I listened to Bannon's Breitbart News Daily show today, here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEWNLdPhC-E

"Cindy" a Tea Party 2.0 local leader, relayed this humorous exchange with a local GOPe leader today for Bannon and company:

TEA PARTY LEADER: We quit the Republican party.

GOP CHAIRMAN: You can't quit, why are you quitting?

TEA PARTY LEADER: Because you lie.

GOP CHAIRMAN: But-but-but-but what are you going to do, you gonna vote for the Democrat?

TEA PARTY LEADER: That doesn't work anymore.

lolololol That's right. The GOPe's Hegelian ruse DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE! ******************************************************************************

Well, Trump wasn’t “clueless” for all of 2015 or Jan.-Aug. of 2016 without Bannon. And he’s done just fine since Bannon left.

So like you I am concerned Bannon thinks he is a kingmaker and that Trump can’t function without him.

And like they say, 63m Americans didn’t vote for Steve Bannon or anyone else not named Trump."

Just sayng, the sentiment on Twitter is “we didn’t vote for Kushner, and we didn’t vote for Bannon.” Trump perfectly capable of making his own decisions.

So you are saying Bannon doubled-down on his private text to you and then you told him or he knew you were going to publish what he said on FR publicly?

IOW, you are saying Bannon is using you to leak on FR?

IDTS.

But I could be wrong and I thank you for all your FR work in any case.

Steve Bannon did no such thing as this article states......in fact Bannon was at ROy’s Rally and absolutely spoke highly of Trump letting everyone know how supportive Roy is of Trump and
regardless of the outcome of the race Trump would support greatly whoever won.

Leftist media want to destroy Bannon and any other media person supporting Trump...they will counter everyone with the intent to ruin them. Not just oppose the but destroy them.

.
I have to generally agree with your assessment.

I hope LS had Bannon’s consent to divulge a personal conversation, and suspect that he did.

Bannon appears to remain a key member of Trump’s behind the scenes team.

Another poster stated that the report was false.

I’m glad to hear that, because I watched his long 60 Minutes interview online, and he sounded very supportive of Trump in it.

I’m not thrilled about Bannon giving the MSM these sound bites that can be used to create (at least the appearance of) divisions in the pro Trump ranks.

However, since I can do nothing about it, I’ll choose to look for a silver lining: maybe it’s not a bad thing for Trump to be reminded occassionally that he needs to continue to earn the support of his base.

Trump is in no danger of losing that support - certainly not mine. But we are not under a magic spell. We support Trump for specific reasons. It’s not emotional, it’s because of what we believe Trump is attempting to do.

I trust Trump, but if I had access to him the way Bannon did (does)- I’d talk back too. I wouldn’t waste my time and Trump’s being a “yes man”.

I’d say these tax cuts aren’t enough to drain the swamp. I’d say fire some more swamp dwellers. I might be acting a lot like Bannon - but only because I want Trump to MAGA.

A Republican president cannot try to primary a Senator or Rep who has voted with the president 100 percent of the time.

The second you do that, it is every man for himself.

If anything, Trump should have sat this one out, but even that sends a message on the Hill of “I don’t believe in some of the stuff I’m doing for him, and he’s STILL against me? Screw this.....”
