Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon mocked President Trump on Wednesday for backing the so-called Republican establishment favorite Luther Strange over Roy Moore in the GOP's Alabama U.S. Senate seat runoff.
"We're 6-0 in these elections," Bannon told Sirius XM's "Breitbart News Daily," referring to "we, the people" and the slew of special elections held under the Trump administration. "President Trump is 5-1. Oops! Did I say that? 5-1."
Moore won the contest with about 54.6 percent to Strange's 45.4 percent, per the Associated Press.
Bannon, who returned to Breitbart News as chairman right after his departure from the White House, warned Trump to heed the base that propelled him to victory in November.
"Do not get on the wrong side of the football of your base. Listen to the people, please," Bannon said. "I know all the troublemakers at Politico and Axios are going to be tweeting that out so the president sees it."

Fake news....I listened to the broadcast....he said it, but it wasn’t taunting the way they’re making it out to be. He merely stated the facts and laughed about it and moved on. Just like you and I would if we picked different teams in a game.

I love Bannon. He’s one of the few real patriots left in America. I believe he would die for this country without a 2nd thought.
Starting to think it’s true. We had a text exchange today. I gave him many legit reasons for DT supporting Strange-—first & foremost loyalty for Luther’s CORRECT pro-Trump votes on health care repeal, judges, and virtually everything else. Strange didn’t come out publicly with one single anti-Trump statement.
Moreover he is STILL in office for 3 months with taxes & more judges coming up. Moore can’t help Trump til January no matter how “pure” he is.
Steve’s reaction was an expletive and said Trump is “clueless.”
Well, Trump wasn’t “clueless” for all of 2015 or Jan.-Aug. of 2016 without Bannon. And he’s done just fine since Bannon left.
So like you I am concerned Bannon thinks he is a kingmaker and that Trump can’t function without him.
And like they say, 63m Americans didn’t vote for Steve Bannon or anyone else not named Trump.
So you’ve talked to Trump have you?
He assured you he didn’t have any ulterior motives with his actions?
He told you he didn’t have a grand game plan in mind, and things didn’t work out as he had hoped?
Bannon goes out and praises Trump for his astute sense of things. Then he turns right around and feeds the idea Trump is an idiot, and is being led by the nose.
Silly.

Except you have no way of knowing anything about who Trump talks and listens to.

Bannon was trying to lay claim for Trump’s Presidential win judging from some book that pissed off Trump and which was written with Bannon’s input.
Bannon is another Decepticon who just happened to get conservatives thinking he was different from the “conservatives” like Ben Shapiro and the other “TruCons”.
They are both coming out here for Kelli Ward.
Reagan NEVER campaigned against another Republican in primaries. Have to look through my notes, but only ONE TIME did he write off a sitting Republican, IIRC a senator who back stabbed him.

In a battle between Trump and Steve, I’m with Trump, every time.
And what's incredibly dumb about this is that Bannon was only around for, what, the last 3 months? Where was Bannon when Trump was whipping Cruz's ass? Oh, right, Breitbart was putting out articles fabricating Cruz's entire immigration record (I can verify this with examples if you ask).
I've been telling folks for awhile. Bannon was and is poison. Like all big time "Conservatives," except us on Free Republic of course, they're in it for the money and for their own personal brand and ego. Nothing more.
