Donald Trump is standing firm against the NFL and its tolerance of players kneeling during the national anthem, saying Wednesday that if it continues the NFLs business is going to go to hell.
Before boarding Marine One at the White House on Wednesday, Trump stopped to speak with reporters and again addressed the national anthem protests that have happened across the NFL.
I think the NFL is in a box. I think theyre in a really bad box, Trump explained. You look at whats happening with their ratings, I mean frankly the only thing thats doing well in the NFL is the pre-game because everyone wants to see whats going on.
You cannot have people disrespecting our national anthem, our flag, our country and thats what theyre doing. And, in my opinion, the NFL has to change or you know whats going to happen? Their business is going to go to hell.
The national anthem protest, started over a year ago by then San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, had pretty much died down this season until last week.

What? College administrators bowing to Social Justice Warriors? Never happen /s
A great earthquake has already rumbled through the NFL, and the aftershocks still go on and on. Nothing, it seems, is too sacred not to be touched by the wrath of the fan base when they have suffered great disappointment. People call up cable carriers to have their NFL package deals canceled, and many others send back the season ticket bundle for this year, though they had been buying them since, well, forever. TV and live spectators are deserting, not just by the thousands, but a body of former fans swiftly growing to millions.
Expect a probably big boost for, of all things, soccer. You EXPECT those guys to be playing without helmets.
It won't end with the NFL, it is going to rock the entire Entertainment Media Industry.
Cut ‘em off from all federal funding.
“Oh, yeah they are staggered big time and it is not going to let up like a temper tantrum.”
It’s the Flag. It doesn’t even matter what a mob opinion states it is. The fact remains. Either we the people don’t allow public and corporate disrespect of our Flag or we do. If we do we’re as done as the NFL-which is done.
These guys are idiotic. And I’m talking about the owners and executives.

“Even if some of them (college players) kneel during the national anthem, lets put it in perspective.”
If college players kneel for the anthem, they are disrespecting the flag and the Republic for which it stands.
This is putting “it in perspective.”
College students are old enough to be treated as adults.
The media if reporting his comments as the NFL is going to hell,” not “the NFL’s business is going to hell.” I cringed when I saw that on TV, but I realize now that they have distorted his statement as usual .
Yes, but unlike NFL players, they’re not getting paid. I respect your decision to not watch college football. But you can’t expect football lovers to give up football cold turkey.
What I’m saying is, put the NFL out of business first. Then see if college football cleans up it’s act. But it’s unrealistic to think that we can put both pro football and college football out of business at the same time.
I watch a little college football - the school I attended.
Or at least I did. Yesterday we totally disconnected from DISH.
Haven't bothered to put up an antenna so in the future I'll listen to the electric radio.
If my team boycotts the anthem - I'll stop listening. I'd throw my own brother-in-law off our place if he disrespected the American flag.
Heck, given how fat we all are these days, and the gluttonous nature of Thanksgiving, just organize a game of touch football instead, or for the older folks, get a ping pong or fusbal table
same here..i tried watching the Lions...and it just wasn’t the same..i saw old lady Ford out there..just made me sick. I’ll never watch another game again.
We live in the age of instant communications, instant market research, very impatient short-term business people and share holders.
I think the NFL is going to have to make major moves before Thanksgiving, maybe before the month of October ends.
A football fan boycott, even at the 20% level, is totally devastating for the owners.
Remember—teams are usually not owned by just one person. They usually have minority shareholders who were promised ongoing returns on their investment.
Those who have had such investors in their business know—there is a _very_ low tolerance for bad judgment that costs them big bucks.
If you add a looming military action with North Korea, and the subsequent likely civilian & military casualties, the protests become even a further stark contrast in a moral context (officers & enlisted serving our country for freedom).
Unfortunately, any poor decisions, or outright defiant decisions, by collegiate organizations has the potential to sweep good colleges into the same basket since there is an oversight authority of the NCAA.
The history of NCAA's actions indicates that they too may follow in the "having it both ways" that some in the NFL have done and/or are trying to do.
Thus, the problem will continue to grow from media attention, social media attention, burning of sports gear, etc. I don't see a quick end to this escalation.
This movement is going to extend to all aspects of the media and entertainment complex. For too long we have ceded control of these industries to the Left, and it has allowed them to poison the minds of millions. Now it's time to take it all back.
Trump is calling out Black Lives Matter and their false, Soros-funded narrative for the world to see, before the group gains any more power over American institutions. To coin a phrase, “It’s a beautiful thing, folks!” :)
Well, do your guests condone disrespecting our Flag and country?
Yup, it’s called standing firm on principle, not popularity among UN-Americans.
If the UConn football team goes leftist retard it probably will have minimal effect.
The stadium is empty now!
“I wish we could do the same with Hollywood”
You are right, lower revenue from movie receipts in the US alone would cause a lot of pain...but not the death of the ‘patient’....better than nothing tho...I’ve been to 5 movies in 5 years....now?....0
