Report: All Patriots To Stand For National Anthem Against Panthers
CBS Boston ^ | 27 September 2017

Posted on 09/27/2017 1:10:31 PM PDT by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Just one week after many members of the Patriots kneeled during the national anthem, a new report indicates that they will all stand together as a team next time out.

A league source told CSNNE’s Gary Tanguay on Tuesday that all Patriots players will stand during the national anthem before next Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers at Gillette Stadium. Many stood and interlocked their arms during the anthem last Sunday before the game against the Texans, while a large portion kneeled.

Teams across the league had similar demonstrations last Sunday, which were mostly a response to controversial comments made by President Donald Trump about NFL players who sit or kneel during the national anthem. The president described such players as ‘sons of bitches’ during a rally in Alabama last Friday, also declaring that they should be fired for doing so.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft was among many executives across the league to respond to Trump’s comments, saying he was “deeply disappointed” by his remarks. Quarterback Tom Brady also said he “disagrees” with what Trump said, supporting his teammates’ right to choose what to do during the anthem. Both Kraft and Brady stood during the anthem last Sunday, while Brady locked arms with Patriots receiver Phillip Dorsett.

The decision of many players to kneel during the national anthem in Foxboro drew a wide range of reactions, some negative. Former Patriots tackle Matt Light said he felt “ashamed” to be a Patriot for the first time in his life. Fans appeared split on the issue of players protesting the anthem.

If the Patriots do end up standing as a collective group during the national anthem next Sunday, it will send the message of unity that the players were trying to send last weekend.

The owners and the players in the NFL have no idea that, while we fans may have liked to watch their games, we really don’t have much respect for a bunch of millionaire thugs and criminals which make up the players of the NFL. Yes, I know many are not and are good people, but somehow, the bad ones taint the whole organization. They are protesting a few bad cops, but protect the wife/girlfriend beaters and felons in their own organization. What’s up with that?

Sorry. The original intent was there and nothing has changed. No apologies.

Maybe the next time a team member needs to see a doctor, the doctor can use the occasion of the 'visit' to explain to the player how he feels about medical care and folks who don't pay their bills.

I mean the rest of us have 'issues' too...

The plumber before he fixes the toilet can tell players about the basic unfairness of union dues... What the hell, most of us know how to be jerks too.

If players want to do something about the violence in the black community - well, good for them. If they want to force it down our throats as if it's OUR problem... and they use the vehicle of disrespecting the flag and our National Anthem then they can eff off...

Or just grow up: Ask themselves if they would like to be treated that way when they're spending their money... buying a service...living their lives.

The PATRIOTS are going to stand for the flag. Are they going to apologize to PRESIDENT TRUMP?

If not, continue the boycott.

[As long as they stop dissing the national anthem and flag, aren’t we good?]

Did they say they were sorry? No go.

Too little, too late. They f***ed themselves and there’s no way for ANY of them to undo it.

But as bad as NEW is, at least Krafty Bob didn’t go kneel down like a $2 whore on payday like (((Muh Jerruh))). “Captain America Jerruh” didn’t save ‘Murica; he only tried to save his dollar$ and looked like a major league a$$h*le doing it.

“’Murica’s Team”. Gag.

God Bless Matt Light, who said that he was “ashamed” to be a Patriot.

What a load of crap. This is the biggest uprising against a franchised league in the US in history as it damn well should be.

Have not watched a down of pro football because of the thugs it hires in 10-12 years and will not ever watch another because they will not change over this. When they start firing and leveling some million dollar fines against these basturds, then I might watch a kick off.

supporting his teammates’ right to choose what to do during the anthem

You need a refresher on the official NFL rules, Brady. The rules state that players will be out on the field, standing, hand on heart, and not talking during the National Anthem.

These football people are so out of touch with reality that it just boggles the mind. Any of us performing political activity on-the-clock would be fired so fast. Especially when your activities on-the-clock cause a PR nightmare. What company would put up with that (other than entertainment industry)?

What do you think will happen if I go tell my boss to go F-off, that the company is lame garbage, and cite my right to free speech for why I said that? It wouldn't stop any of us from hitting the bricks a minute after doing it. Any normal company would send you home for the day and set aside 20 minutes later to come clean out your desk.

The only thing I respect less than supporting the flag-haters is their employer pandering to me to try to woo me back. Too late, they already lost my respect. Once that is lost, they’re not getting it back. My decision to dump football isn’t just “until this whole silly PR thing blows over.”

And by "some negative", they of course mean "overwhelmingly negative". It's nice of these "journalists" to engage in transparent propaganda on behalf of the NFL.

It's popcorn time, ladies and gentlemen. The backpedaling is going to be fast and furious. This is going to be fun to watch...
