Difference between Dems and GOP is an ‘illusion’
I left the R party in 2006. The veil was lifted on the #uniparty. Trump damages his brand when he tries to work with them.
when have the dems proposed doubling the standard exemption? Nice try.
We need reform. Trump is suggesting "cuts" (rate changes.)
And despite these concessions to Democrats, healthcare reform is dead, and Democrats are already criticizing the GOP tax plan. Seriously, just how brain dead is the GOPe that they continually bow and genuflect to their Democrat masters and then -- once again -- get nothing for it except a shiv in the back.
The Stupid Party just never learns and is forever seeking to be loved by Democrats and the MSM. They are just incapable of learning.
Well, in many ways, yes. Democrats want a tax increase on the wealthy (to stop wealth creation now that they’ve got theirs), and Trump seems likely to give it to them.
Drudge seems to have had it out for Trump since the day he said he didn’t want transgender freaks in the military.
for R’s to want to “keep the tax code at least as progressive as the current one”
is NOT what we voted for them for!
Assuming this plan passes, which it won’t, top earners would get about 70% of all the 5 trillion in tax cuts it gives over the next ten years.
All members of the (D) party and most members of the (R) party are simply Swampocrats.
if we wanted the R’s to “keep the tax code at least as progressive as the current one”
we would have voted for Bernie the Red or HilLIARy and their communistic gangsters
what’s the difference between an Anti-American Communistic “Progressive” gangster and a RINO?
The RINO is still hiding in the closet (but he votes the same damned communistic way)
“But the plan also says that “an additional top rate may apply to the highest-income taxpayers to ensure that the reformed tax code is at least as progressive” as the current one.”
This is what Trump has asked for. He has said it more than a few times he wants a tax increase for the rich. Trump’s and the GOPe’s difference with the Dems is in the details not the principals.
Keep your eye on the ball. The overall goal is to cut taxes, cut regulations, cut government, secure the borders, rebuild the military and to make America stronger, better, greater and more competitive again. Reagan didn’t get there right away either, but his policies created a boom that lasted a couple of decades. Like Reagan, Trump is also going to have to battle a hostile congress and he’s going to need our support to move his overall agenda. We can repeal Obamacare and cut the taxes and cut the government and make America stronger and make the economy boom again, but we’re gonna have to continue electing conservatives to the congress to make it happen. Don’t fret the top earners. Their fortunes will rise with the economy. We’ll all be better off in a booming economy. Never surrender, never retreat! Damn the torpedoes and the alligators, drain the swamp! MAGA!
BS. Trump’s plan lowers taxes on corporations to 20% and small businesses to 25%. The highest rate would come down from 39% to 35%.
Not really. The president proposes getting rid of the death tax, doubling the standard deduction, and just making the whole process simpler.
Drudge is holding a grudge and I wish he would knock it off.
WTF? I just read the report from Reuters that didn’t mention a raise from 10 to 12% in it. Is it in there or not?
Gotta love “tax relief” that makes your tax liability skyrocket
It is not possible to discuss tax reform without discussing tariff rates. This is all an illusion(nice way of saying BS) to keep globalists in power.
