Feds Spend $429,220 Tracking Eye Movements of Latinos at Grocery Stores to Fight Obesity
Washington Free Beacon ^ | September 27, 2017 | Elizabeth Harrington

The National Institutes of Health is spending over $400,000 on a study tracking the eye movements of Latinos and their children at grocery stores in a bid to fight obesity.

The study at San Diego State University is using "eye-tracking technology" to determine how overweight people make their decisions on what to buy at the grocery. Researchers hope they can identify strategies for changing groceries to nudge people into choosing options they consider healthier.

How many people can there really be who just go to a grocery store before they have a list of things to get?

The decision on what to buy is usually made earlier in the week.

Isn’t there supposed to be some sort of auditor who examines the intellectual premise before handing out grant money?

This “study” is so bogus on so many levels it’s breathtaking. What’s really going on is the government funneling half a million to its supporters in academia.

Maybe they should hand out free cigarettes. Back when more people smoked, we had much less obesity.

I’m jk, but this social engineering that they do always has consequences. They want to build Heaven on Earth (Immanentizing the Eschaton| and they will not succeed. They will just create different problems.

I go to the store with a list of things I “need”, but then walk up and down most of the isles also buying things I spontaneously “want”.

Lay off tortillas, beans and rice. Now send me a check for $100,000, a real bargain.

How about a little mind control, Big Brother. Just control my thoughts, track my eye movements and condition me with small “therapeutic” shocks when I look “wrong” so that I eat what you want this week, watch what you want on TV...

Thank you for referencing that article kevcol. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Patriots are reminded that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the corrupt federal government the specific power to tax and spend for the purpose described by the referenced article. Such spending is base on state revenues which Congress has stolen from the states by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."—Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Patriots need to pink-slip as many career federal lawmakers as they can in the 2018 elections, replacing them with state sovereignty-respecting patriots. New lawmakers should express willingness to support Pres. Trump’s vision for MAGA within Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, amending the Constitution if necessary.

In the meanwhile, patriots need to make sure that there are plenty of Trump-supporting candidates on the primary ballots.

Your picture is spot on! Occasionally, we have to go to the Walmart in Napa, CA. It's like Mexico City replete with obese Mexican women and their gaggles of obese children loading up their grocery carts with all the $hit that makes and keeps them obese. Interestingly, many of their husbands are not fat, probably because they work in the vineyards doing hard labor.

“I go to the store with a list of things I “need”, but then walk up and down most of the isles also buying things I spontaneously “want”.”

But don’t we all. The other thing you should not do is go to the grocery store hungry. And at Costco, they abet your hunger with people preparing “snacks” all over the store, in an attempt to get you to buy stuff you didn’t intend to buy.
