**snip**These file photos show, assistant basketball coaches Tony Bland, left, Chuck Person, center, and Lamont Richardson. The three, along with assistant coach Lamont Evans of Oklahoma State, were identified in court papers and are among 10 people facing federal charges ...

In one of the biggest crackdowns on the corrupting role of money in college basketball, 10 men — including a top Adidas executive and four assistant coaches — were charged Tuesday with using hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes to influence star athletes’ choice of schools, shoe sponsors, agents, even tailors.

Some of the most explosive allegations appeared to involve Louisville, one of college basketball’s biggest powerhouses, which is already on NCAA probation over a sex scandal.

Federal prosecutors said at least three top high school recruits were promised payments of as much as $150,000, using money supplied by Adidas, to attend two universities sponsored by the athletic shoe company. Court papers didn’t name the schools but contained enough details to identify them as Louisville and Miami.

"If I were LeBron James or Jay-Z (who founded ROC Nation), I better have my lawyers on retainer AND speed dial."

With the NBA going rabid anti-trump, if current players are involved a scandal of this sort would be a huge "black eye."

“Wonder if one of the defense lawyers will play the race card?”

If they won’t, I will but not in the way it normally gets laid on the table. I’m rapidly tiring of this crew turning everything they touch in the entertainment world into liquid manure, removing any entertainment value and leaving only irritation.

It’s not like this crime is not important but shouldn’t the full weight of the DOJ be put to better use with its sights on..........Clinton,Obama,Soros,election fraud, sanctuary cities, and anyone and everything undermining the Administration and committing treason in America?

Remember, LeBron James has very close ties to Nike and Jay-Z’s ROC Nation is a talent agency that represents many professional athletes. Jay-Z is particularly vulnerable, especially if the people involved includes agents working for ROC Nation.

Thank you for the info. I don’t follow basketball too closely in terms of activities unrelated to the on court games, so I’m not familiar with all the organizations or programs that NBA players or entertainers are involved in. You might be on to something though. I’m sure that a LOT of people are getting more than a little nervous about now.

Doing this investigation will be shooting fish in a barrel. Just go to schools using Adidas sneakers and speak to the stars of the basketball team. It would be something like “So Devontez did you come to Crooked State University for their Pre-Med program or because there was money stuffed in your sneakers?” Devontez will hand them all up if they lie and say “Oh you’re not in any trouble.”
