The Alabama voters believe Trump was just going through the motions and that he really wanted Moore. They believe that.

As do I.
Congrats to Roy Moore and get in there with him, Mr. President.
You promised to campaign with him if Roy won and sure enough he did.
And a win-win coup by Trump - would have been a terrible political move to dump on Strange, who had done nothing wrong in his term so far. If he had, and Strange won, Trump would have egg on his face. Now that Trump did the “fidelity” thing and Mitch’s boy lost despite all they threw at Moore, trump can 100% back a true principled Conservative. And Mitch has the egg all over his face.
It was a given President wins either way.
Now lets not forget Dec’s election...opponent is not a squishy Republican. It’s much worse. His opponent is Doug Jones, an ultra-liberal zealot best known as one of the most liberal members of Bill Clinton’s Justice Department under Janet Reno. I cannot tell you how important your continued financial support will be.
If you want to KEEP MOORE in this seat, some $$$ to defeat jones are needed.
Yes..... IHIP
Incumbency Hath Its Privileges
One such priviledge is support of the party
Was never a Strange fan but he did his part as far as supporting trump’s agenda so far. No telling if he did it because he believed or if he just wanted to try to ensure his continued membership of the Senate but it would have been a political faux pas for Trump to go against him under the circumstances of the day. Let’s hope Strange stays on the agenda knowing he is done in the Senate - might try to wiggle into another position to further his career....
From posts of Alabama Freeper’s, it appears his career is over.
Since he’s been President, yes. Candidate Trump backed Renee Elmers.
Appointed Senators since 1974 who were subsequently defeated in the special for the rest of the term or the election for the next term if there was no special, who beat them, and why the seat was vacant
“Lex” Luther Strange (R-AL) 2017 primary runoff (Sessions to Cabinet) by Roy Moore by 9ish points
The Widow Carnahan (D-MO) 2002 Nov general (dead husband elected in 2000 by the retard vote) by Jim Talent, narrowly
Sheila “Squeaky” Frahm (RINO-Kansas) 1996 primary (Bob Dole resigned to focus on losing POTUS race) by Sam Brownback, by 13 points
Bob Krueger (D-TX) 1993 all party top two runoff (Lloyd Benson (D) to cabinet) by Kay Bailout Hutchinson by 2-1.
John Seymour (R-CA) 1992 Nov General (Sen. Pete Wilson (R) was elected Governor in 1990) by DiFi, crushed
David Karnes (R-NE) 1988 election for full term (Moderate rat Edward Zorinsky died in 1987) by Rat scumbag Bob Kerrey, by 15 points
James Broyhill (R-NC) 1986 special general and election for the full term (GOP Senator John East took his own life, I thought cause he was terminally ill but that appears not to be the case), by rat Terry Sanford, narrowly
The Widow Maryon Allen (D-AL) 1978 primary runoff (her husband Jim, a moderately conservative rat who got 1 VP vote at the ‘76 GOP convention, died) by a wide margin to Donald Stewart, who held the seat for rats
Paul Hatfield (D-MT) 1978 primary (rat Lee Metcalf died ) by “Maxie Pad” Max Baucus, by a huge margin
Wendell Anderson (MN) 1978 general (Mondale was elected VP) by Rudy Boschwitz, by a wide margin, part of a very bad 1978 for MN democrats, who lost both Senate seats and the Governorship.
Louis Wyman (R-NH) a very odd case that doesn’t really count, a Senator for 3 days, Wyman he was duly elected in 1974 to a full term when Senator Norris Cotton retired, and was appointed to the vacancy when Cotton resigned early to give him a leg up in seniority (as was common at the time, no longer done). He was not seated for the new full term as the rat contested the election after failing to steal it via recounts, a special election was foolishly agreed to and held and the rat won. Wyman was not the sitting Senator at the time, Cotton was appointed to serve until the special election.
