Graham-Cassidy gets stabbed in the back from both purists and swamp critters alike

I'm a bit out of steam from my rants and phone blitzes during the last two attempts to repeal Obamacare. I am not a Lindsey Graham fan, but I must say I think his Graham-Cassidy bill is a very reasonable bill.

For those of you who don't know, this bill merely takes the money for Obamacare subsidies and block grants it over to the states. Each state will be encouraged to design their own healthcare system. If they want Bernie-care in their state, they can go for it. But if they want more choices on the market, they can do that, too. Obviously, this will encourage competition and bring the prices down.

Just so you know, it's a lie that people with pre-existing conditions would be on their own if a state opts out of that requirement. For a state to do this, it would have to show that it has an alternative plan, for example, a funding pool, for those with pre-existing conditions.

So, call your senators if you still have the energy, even though Susan Collins just announced that she's a "no vote," which I think makes the bill DOA

Geez. Is it really less than a year ago that we were all celebrating winning not only the oval office but having the house and the senate. Man were we gonna get things done now huh. Well, that toilet's been flushed and the swamp is still full. Trump-O-Rooter is trying but our "representatives" sure as hell ain't helping. Up next------2018. Odds on keeping the house and senate?

There will be no “repeal and replace,” just as there will be no tax reform.

There may be amnesty.

Weiss is dead wrong. The Grahamnesty bill is a huge federal entitlement, that future Democrat administrations will use to force States to implement single payer. That’s how it happened in Canada. Get the provinces/states to become addicted to federal dollars then they have to comply with federal dictates.

It was Fake Repeal and deserved to fail. The GOP is pathetic.

May be the pragmatist in me, but generally when both sides are pissed, its probably the right thing in the general case.

They are almost all against it (Orders from "K" street). Its just that each one seeks his/her own way of finding cover for treason.

Trump gave up his cards when he agreed to fund the government and increase the deficit. That was his hole card, he played it badly. With no money, these programs would have been toast. Colin and Muckcow-ski sic. need be gone ASAP. McCain cannot be gone from the planet soon enough to suit me. Paul, well, he makes sense most of the time but not this time and Cruz, that was a surprise....no idea what got into him this time but hopefully he does not show up on the 2020 dance card.

A block grant to states that can’t even run their other state programs? Um no. Both coasts will go full single payer. It. Will. Fail. We. Will. Bail them out.
Ludicrous insurance company bailout!

Trump needs to sign an executive order nullifying congress’ claim as a “small business”.

Removing that claim as a small business removes the tax payer subsidies congress receives towards their health insurance.

A lot of people I know who were walking on air last November have all but fallen into apathy.

Lots of Monday morning quarterbacking, but the fact is the Republican Party marches to the beat of the NWO drum.

Neither party give a rat’s @$$ about returning this country to the land of the free; the home of the brave.

Anybody who tried to form a viable third party was silenced by the likes of Levin, Rush, and Hannity. Not to mention the Establishment sellouts here on FR.

Unless something drastic changes, quite a few people will be staying home on election night.

I laugh at my fellow FReepers.

Susan Collins, McCain, (probably Snow too), are against it.

Since when did they become the daring defenders of the Conservative flag?

Folks, quit acting like... well...

If these people are against it, it’s almost certain there is worth in it.

What part of that are you folks unable to grasp?

When is the last time any of them voted to support something truly Conservative?

If you can remember it, you’ve got far better recall than I do.

No, it appears the Swamp drained President Trump.

That being said, if he fills the judicial slots with Constitutional origionalists, I'm happy.

Paulie, none of us here have gotten what we wanted. I do have to urge you folks to think long and hard about staying home on election day.

We did get Goresuch. Can you imagine if Hillary Clinton had gotten that pick? Trump has undone a lot of Obama nonsense by Executive Order, used because Obama set the policies with and E. O. himself. Trump just reversed or cancelled them. If you think the situation is bad now, imagine Hillary with the House and Senate on her side. Granted, the Congress is acting as if a uni-party, but folks, things could be worse. As much as I hate what the leadership is doing, we can't just toss our hand up in the air and surrender. We hold their feet to the fire and we primary as many of them as we can. The alternative is the loss of our nation in less than four years. And if you think we've hit rock bottom already, you just aren't thinking clearly. Trump has it set up to rebuild our military. Under Hillary and the Democrats we wouldn't have a military in four years.

Who was it?

I was referring to the passage of conservative bills and budgets, a generalization of the specific subject of this article.
