The NFL has a MAJOR Hypocrisy Problem When it Comes to Allowing the American Flag to be Disrespected
The Politistick ^ | 09/24/2017 | Matthew K. Burke

Posted on 09/24/2017 12:45:51 PM PDT by ForYourChildren

Why is it okay to disrespect the American flag, okay to wear a t-shirt praising communist butcher Fidel Castro, okay to depict cops as pigs, but not okay to wear a Christian t-shirt?

Everyone is weighing in in the disrespectful NFL flag-sitters, so I might as well. Here are several points that make the case that NFL owners and the commissioner are utter hypocrites for allowing players to disrespect the American flag:

1) The NFL is a private company — it is not the federal government. Every private company has codes of conduct.

2) The NFL forced RGIII (Robert Griffin III) to turn his “Know Jesus, Know Peace” t-shirt inside out because — according to NFL management — it violated their code of conduct in regards to apparel.

How many of us here on FR know there are 4 stanzas? :)

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country, should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation.
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: ‘In God is our trust.’
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

It is not hypocritical to liberals.
Conservatives think liberals are wrong. Liberals think conservatives and their values like patriotism are evil.
Liberals consider it moral to disrespect the flag, hate the evil conservatives, commit violence against would-be fascists.
They don’t consider it hypocritical to have tiered morality and rules, either.
When you think whites and men are unfairly privileged, actively discriminating against them in favor of officially oppressed groups - like holding oppressed groups to lower standards of behavior and academics - that is seen as making up for an unfair system today. Hence it is moral to them to tear down whites, men, heterosexuals and give extra points on college admissions, scholarships, jobs, moral weight in disputes. The unfairness is fair to them.

Wrong war.

That was the Revolution. The Star Spangled Banner was about the War of 1812.

Which was started because the British was conscripting, or enslaving, our citizens to serve on their war ships.

Everyone keeps missing the point of how this contrived horseshit got started in the first place.

Kaepernick took over for an underperforming quarterback who was injured for the rest of the season. He then went on to underperform and underperformer and take the 49ers to a loser losing season.

He knew he sucked or that his time had passed and that he was no longer able to play competitively against the rest of the league.

So, he contrived this phony baloney black lives matters Colin Kaepernick self-serving crap, all the while wearing Fidel Castro bullshit shirts in adoration of a mass murderer and Warden of an island concentration camp for 8 million Souls.

This is a PR stunt that got out of control and is taking the league down.

Make no mistake I have friends who started to defend him until I pointed out his statistics and then compared him to a dog murdering Michael Vick who spent two years in prison came out and was rehired as a quarterback.

I mean seriously, you talk about hypocracy? Here is a dog murderer who is way blacker than Colin Kaepernick a half-ass, half-wit who couldn’t just go out gracefully.

Know a loser, who can no longer compete with the other quarterbacks then contrives this crap, because he knew he was going to be released and before that happened he decided to go free agent so that he could try to Gin up his marketability, which of course no longer exist.

That he can no longer compete against his colleagues is something he should have just accepted as a matter of age and degradation of the body from playing the game.

And the players who followed suit with him are even dumber for not seeing this for what it is.

Let me emphasize again:
Michael Vick, dog killer, extraordinary talented player and convicted felon, they genuinely way blacker man... rehired as a quarterback after being in prison for 2 years.

Colin Kaepernick on the other hand contrived this phony reason for a PR stunt which cost him nothing in the short-term but now has cost him his free agent status because he is a recognized and demonstrable loser

And the other players it’s costing them exactly zero to play games while playing a game when most people want to just be entertained which is their job.

They are intellectually bankrupt, morally impaired and social Misfits.

The league owners? Nothing but a bunch of pussies and and deserve what’s coming until they get a backbone and start serving their customers

NFL’s own rule

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook. It states:

“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition...

...It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

I believe there is an American flag emblem on the back of every helmet that the players wear. Go figure.

I posted that item on another thread stating how ironic it is. It is also a rule that the decals cannot be removed. I also note they are placed in the back of the helmet where scuffing would be less likely.

"The issue is Kaepernick"

It's not limited to Kaepernick, and I didn't mention Kaepernick in particular. Contrary to what you wrote, anti-American interests funded by many local government and corporate sponsors are also pushing to change our National Anthem.

"How much taxpayer money flows into the NFL (for stadiums, etc.)? Maybe start by turning off those taps."

That's an excellent idea! Thank you! Much of the money is facilitated by various lobby organizations that support more political influence for municipal/county/state governments. They are also behind the regulation regime against new building and business starts.

Thanks!

Here's another mention of note. The British transported over a million slaves to the Americas and other places. Why did the NFL players who disrespected our Anthem and flag in London stand more respectfully for the British National Anthem (contrary to what the article said)?
