On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” network contributor and Republican strategist Karl Rove discussed President Donald Trump criticism of NFL players for taking a knee during the national anthem at games.
According to Rove, Trump would be “walking away” from this controversy a “loser.”

“He could have come away from this the winner,” he continued. “But he is walking away from this a loser in the minds of the American people for exactly the reasons you pointed out. He was against the federal government interfering and telling the Washington Redskins what their name should be. Now he is saying fire those people if they do not stand and respect the flag. He ought to be an aspirational figure. He should not be a condemnatory figure.”

Giant flag covering the field and military flyover.
Teams standing arm in arm only a few players kneeling.
Black sailor sang, good voice.
And with that quote Karl Rove demonstrates that he can't tell the difference between the actions of the government and private citizens. No wonder the only work he can find is comic relief on Fox News.
Donald Trump beat all sixteen of these Republican contenders, then won the general election against Hillary Clinton in the biggest political upset in decades.
Rove has reached the point where he would be more credible as an NFL head coach than he is as a political advisor.

Rove’s only job was to use Trump and Loser in the same sentence so the Bush family could yippy clap in front of the family TV.

The NFL is aligned against the flag and the National Anthem. The NFL players are actively disrespecting both, with nothing but praise so far from the NFL.
I don’t see how the NFL comes out looking reasonable.
Trump is doing exactly what a president should be doing - standing up for our flag and our National Anthem.
Rove obviously hates Trump and is internally gleeful at the possibility that he is somehow wrong that it clouds what should be obvious to a thinking person.

He’s right. There is literally nothing the NFL can do about it. Not until the next CBA is negotiated. If they try to do anything about it the PA will take them to court and win. There’s a reason they largely ignored it last year and let it peter out, and were on that path this year, that’s really all the league can do about it, hope it goes away.
Trump is reflecting what most people think: disrespecting the nation, the anthem, our flag, and the police is wrong.
Rove can cram it.

I don’t watch. Explain to me what happened? Steelers didn’t even show up, but the other teams stood for the anthem?
He is on TV BECAUSE he was the architect of GWB’s never-fight-back-even-about-lies losing strategy. The MSM loves trotting him out and pretending that he represents our side.
Losing is something Karl Rove is an expert on.
