Steelers will not participate in today’s National Anthem, as @JamieErdahl reported. Steelers will remain in locker room during Anthem.
You know....the way to go here is to get 10,000 fans into a game and launch into a two-hour national anthem....for the length of the whole game.
I disagree. I have every confidence that stadiums are going to start cheering “Stand Up” “Stand Up’ “Stand Up”. This sport that so many enjoy is going to perish because of idiot entertainers that have no clue where their paycheck comes from. Just keep the players away from the anthem.

Be that as it may, the US armed forces are representing our flag and we stand for THEM as they fight for US.
We need the good voices of our military to go viral. We need soldiers in uniform in front rows at these games -— take a knee in front of some wounded vets, schmucks. Hide in your locker rooms from them, dumbasses.
Before the NFL bans our NATIONAL ANTHEM as “too divisive” (I know, what the...), we need some bigwig soldiers in brass to step up and speak about how our anthem played before sporting events keeps us one nation and helps us remember that today is just a game but we FOUGHT AND DIED for this freedom to drink beer and cheer our teams.
The pride of every soldier should KEEP the anthem played at our games. That will be the first thing the NFL will do. In full antiAmerican cowardice, they will remove the flag and anthem from the games if something isn’t done SOON about this.
At every college basketball game I have attended the National Anthem is played while the players are in the locker room. AFAIK no one has ever taken the NCAA to task for this.
Keep them off the field. Take away the platform for this form of protest. Let the National Anthem be heard at sporting events by those who respect it. It will be a major black eye for the NFL if teams don’t let their players on the field for the Star Spangled Banner.

It was never about banning the song “Dixie” or the Confederate flag.
All along the goal - except to the unsuspecting - was to outlaw the national anthem and the American flag.

The military paid the NFL to be allowed to participate in game ceremonies. Yep, you read that right. The military paid the NFL, not the other way around. I wonder if that applies to the color guard as well.

Can’t wait until Hockey season starts. Watch the opening to a Chicago Black Hawks game. Gives you chills going down your spine when the Anthem is played. Amazing.
And yes, the folks that go to these games are not from the ‘hood gang banging the murder rate up, up ,up each week in Chi-Raq.

Funny how the Canadian and Russian hockey players respect our anthem more than NFL players.

Soccer doesn’t suffer these sort of political/racial distractions to my knowledge. There are country vs country conflicts but not internal protests. Maybe that’s coming. Any sport with a significant number of blacks may be vulnerable.
