President Trump turned on the NFL commissioner this evening, after Roger Goodell spoke out about the president condemning players who kneel in protest during the national anthem and calling on team owners to fire those players.
In a tweet, Trump said Goodell is "trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country."

Another freeper noted the nfl is more willing to penalize excessive celebration yet allow disrespect to the flag.
I’m hoping the TV audience for the NFL just crashes through the floor tomorrow and onward.
It would be great if tons of fans who already have tickets to games tomorrow get pissed and just decide not to go. Don’t re-sell, them, we want maximum empty seats!!!
I am waiting for the first time one of these black asspits decides to backfire on a referee because he knows the official wanted to disrespect the player. And I have not watched any game for at least three years.

The NFL should not play the national anthem at any game if all players cannot stand during the tribute.

I think a lot of these clowns are in such a bubble that they don’t grasp what is happening. I HOPE and EXPECT that the owners and Goodell are going to get a ratings earthquake now. I sure hope so. Numbers have already been sliding for the past year, but we need a HUGE drop now to send the message more strongly. It would be great if NFL watching just collapses now. Let the sponsors and TV networks hit their panic buttons.

I remember when Tim Tebow took a knee and he was shamed out of the sport. No one let him exercise his first amendment right.
