President Trump turned on the NFL commissioner this evening, after Roger Goodell spoke out about the president condemning players who kneel in protest during the national anthem and calling on team owners to fire those players.
In a tweet, Trump said Goodell is "trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country."

Some owners, at least, have decided to push back against President Trump and angry fans. Fans need to shake the NFL to its foundations, immediately!!! bOYCOTT!!!!

More targets and more media churn. Like an adolescent soccer team, the press chases the ball as one, then flocks to wherever to ball is kicked next. Trump floods the zone and the media takes off like the cowboy who ran out onto the porch, jumped on his horse, and rode off in all directions at once.
And when the press captures a desperate little soldier, they take him back and work him to death. Meanwhile, the country has moved on and doesnt care anymore. And the tweet-storms, like fireworks in the sky, make the fans in the stands say, Ah.
Goodell is a failed commissioner.
Our President has voiced my sentiments on the subject exactly.
We have for years we watch the super bowl for an excuse to get together and eat a bunch of crap and goof on the commercials I have never paid to see a game or purchased any nfl gear ever went to one game with my dad in the 70s Falcons at Rams at the coliseum with the round troff urinals rams lost and never wanted to have a gang wee wee again
More. More, please. I am so sick of these brain-dead muscle-bound prima donnas I could just puke.
Hahah, Trump knows how those who hate him will react and it won’t make them look good
Players can do whatever they want ON THEIR OWN TIME.
No one is saying these players do not have a right to express their unhappiness with the treatment of black persons at the hands of police. There is a time and a place.
The whole country is not guilty.
Can NFL owners fire players for hurting the bottom line? Or must they continue to pay them until their contract runs out?
If you can’t fire them, put them on the bench. Football is entertainment. It is not entertaining to watch someone spit on you.
Even if a team can’t get out of paying a player (contract) they can certainly bench a player, or even keep the player out of uniform and out of the stadium.

Goodell wasted an opportunity to stand up for his country. He confirmed he could care less about his product becoming offensive to a large number of fans.
He should resign and be the road manager for the Dixie Chicks.
the college games looked pretty good today.
Their stupidity is dumbfounding. They are willingly alienating half the country by taking up this cause. Unfortunately for them, the half they are alienating are the ones who actually work, buy tickets to their games, buy their merchandise, and buy products offered by their advertisers. The ones they are supporting are mostly on welfare and can’t afford those things. Bad decision and they deserve what is about to happen to their bottom line.
My local newspaper is predicting more players will take a knee in defiance of Trump. The players will do their grandstanding this weekend, and think they won the battle against Trump. They may get the liberal cities to support them, but they will lose half their audience. It will be a pyrrhic victory when they find out next week that half the football fans stopped watching them.We are watching a business commit suicide.
Time and place is correct. Few of us can go to a job and say/do just anything we please. If you are paid by an employer you are there for their purposes and they can set conditions. Pro athletes can do all the free speech and demonstrations they like on their own time, their own dime. But when they are in uniform for a TEAM the organization has every right to set professional expectations.

Me too.
