I appreciate the note of agreement. ":^)
Sounded like he’s bought into the old “incumbent is only one who can win” crap. He can’t afford to lose seats.
So, um. How do you think the Dems are going to handle Moore and Trump? If they cuddle up to Moore, well he’s ten commandments guy, right? Can you imagine?!
Plus he’s going to waste no time saying what a great guy the president is and how much he’s looking forward to working with him!
There is no way the anti-Trumpers come out of this looking good should they politicize it. Alabama, Moore, Strange, Bannon, all like Trump, and none of them like people who say cuddly things to the likes of Kim Jong Un at the expense of the president.
He still wants to get rid of Jeff Sessions but can’t if it is true that he got Sessions voters because of Sessions endorsement. Truthfully the situation benefits him by giving him a firewall that the media can’t ding or wrap their minds around.
I suspect it's because Trump needed McConnel to get the Obamacare alternative passed... I also think Trump knows his base and would assume we could figure this out...
And now that Obamacare light is all but guaranteed to fail, I've read that Trump claims he might have made a mistake in endorsing Strange...
Trump said just today he may be mistaken in backing Strange.
He explained that when counting Senators voting to repeal Obamacare, Strange said “You have my vote”, which made Strange look like he was a Trump Team member. So the President joyfully said he was backing Strange.
However, as the President was briefed about the real views of Strange, he has started to backtrack.
This is a pattern with Donald Trump and it is not a bad pattern.
The pattern can be summarized as follows:
“When Donald Trump receives good information, he makes the right decision.”
This means he is self-correcting and he’s not afraid to change his mind, he does not let his ego get in the way of coming eventually to the right view.
What we pray for is that the people around him, that have access to him, like Kellyanne or Jay Sekulow, and many others who are rock solid in their instincts, that they get to him first.
The problem is that it can be a day or two before the good advisors weigh into brief our President. So we must learn patience. But what we can do is to try our best to reach these good advisors or their staff members and relay messages with urgency so that the President doesn’t have to retract anything. It usually works well but often the corporate media will twist a remark into something bigger than it really is or something that is is not (fake).
You’re welcome! :-)
But it might make any future candidates who President Trump backs wonder just how reliable that support is. IMO, a bit too clever by half.
Trump believes that Strange is better suited for general election campaigns.
I support Moore.
Trump’s endorsements in primaries have been terrible, last year it was McCain and Ryan, this year it’s Strange.
He does not seem to recognize swamp monsters.
Simply, the art of the deal. IMHO, it doesn’t matter to Trump who wins. I get the impression he knows it would be best if Moore won, but for the art of the deal, it’s okay if Strange won, too. I imagine Trump in a way is relying on the grass root support to get the big picture and deliver a Moore win ourselves...hence, in comes Sarah Palin and Steve Bannon. It’s our country, too; so we got to be in the fight as well and not sit on our laurels for the President to do everything—which in reality, he unfortunately can’t...not without support. He already has a major battle on his hands with Washington elites; we conservatives have to pick up the fight locally ourselves. Draining the swamp is not just up to him, it’s up to all of us.
Politics sucks but he's learning to deal with it.
Hey trebb, did you see him say that if Judge Moore won, he’d be in Alabama campaigning his butt off for him?
No - did he actually say it? I can imagine him doing what he can for whichever of them comes out on top.
Yes. Because Moore is a poor candidate for the General. Strange has shown himself to be a loyal Trump team member. So he’s the right man for the job. More importantly, he’s polling better in the General. Trump knows what he is doing when he supports Strange. Palin, Bannon et al, if they are successful with Moore, will be responsible for losing us another seat in the Senate. We’ve seen this many times before where a purist ideologue is pushed through in the primary and then loses big league in the General.
Palin has become a spoiler and doesn’t know how to support our President. She’s taking us back to the time of losing.
Oh yes. I watched him say it.
