Sen. John McCain declared his opposition Friday to the GOP's last-ditch effort to repeal and replace "Obamacare," dealing a likely death blow to the legislation and, perhaps, to the Republican Party's years of vows to kill the program. It was the second time in three months the 81-year-old McCain emerged as the destroyer of his party's signature promise to voters.
"I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried," McCain said of the bill, co-written by Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, his best friend in the Senate, and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana. "Nor could I support it without knowing how much it will cost, how it will affect insurance premiums, and how many people will be helped or hurt by it."
McCain, who is battling brain cancer in the twilight of a remarkable career, said he could not "in good conscience" vote for the legislation.

Yes, SacAjawea!! And everyone should know the lying steaming turd known as McCain ran on a PROMISE to repeal and replace Obamacare. He ran dozens of campaign commercials last year, focused on the repeal and replacement of Obamacare. May he roast in hell for all the lies he told his constituents
Now the democraps will push universal health care. How will McCain vote on that?
Yep. He’s been on my radar as one of the “bad guys” since the Keating five.
I have a long memory.
That is because he IS a democrat.
If we get everyone else but him plus the vice president we are still good to go.
‘said he could not “in good conscience” vote for the legislation’
Said by a man with no conscience.
Well, with that fast spreading brain cancer, McCain is on the same path as the repeal bill.
...”I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried,” McCain...
SEVEN YEARS!!!!
Seven years and you not yet tried?????
What are you waiting for????
All talk, and no action
I haven’t read the bill. However, I still think this two sentence bill should be sponsored over and over until it is passed...
“The Affordable Care Act is hereby rescinded in it’s entirety. All matters of health care shall be determined by the states.”
McCain gives hard working prostitutes a bad name.
He really carries a grudge, doesn’t he? Who on earth is going to believe that is not his motive in voting no on this package. He’ll show Trump, by golly!! I wonder if he hates the North Vietnamese as much!! What a loser!
GOOD OLD BOY club member.
McCain knows he is close to a long dirt nap so he is just taking it for the team. He is just a proxy for about 20 GOPe senators who do not want this to pass. If McCain dropped dead tomorrow and his replacement supported repeal, someone like Flake or Cochran (about 15-20 to choose from) would just step up and take his place. This is just a charade.
This MF’er is worse than Soros ...
