San Francisco sues Exxon over 'warming,' but there's 1 huge problem ...

Climate scientists admit their models were wrong!

Just as prominent climate-change scientists are admitting their models predicting global warming were wrong, the city of San Francisco is suing five of the world’s largest oil and gas companies based on the “scientific consensus” that mankind is causing catastrophic damage to the planet through fossil fuels and other carbon emissions.

The lawsuit filed Tuesday in California court accuses the oil companies – including Chevron, Exxon Mobil and ConocoPhillips – of ignoring warnings that fossil fuels would cause global warming and of engaging in campaigns to discredit the claims of climate scientists, the Associated Press reported.

The city of Oakland, at least two California counties and another city have filed separate but similar suits.

San Francisco, claiming the oil companies have created a public nuisance, wants to be reimbursed for the costs of sea walls and other infrastructure that officials claim are needed to protect against climate change.

...it might be newsy enough that the media can't ignore...

The media can and will ignore anything that doesn't fit their agenda. Crickets (sigh)

Well they are...indirectly. And specifically, middle class Americans.

One would think that the legal giants, Xavier Becerra and his sidekick, Sean McCluskie, would be paying more attention to their personal legal exposure to the hazardous impact of jail confinement on whoosie donkeys.

By the way, has Becerra and McCluskie revealed where the Awan’s secret server was housed in their office?

Seems like it is time to start ginning up the machinery to have Becerra and McCluskie disbarred.

San Fransisco suing Exxon over the debatable effects of the use of its products is like them suing Glock even though it’s police force are equipped with them as sidearms, or suing Ford even though they were just chauffeured or taxied to city hall in one of them. Stop being hypocrites. It’s YOUR choice and your responsibility what do do with petrol, or firearms, or automobiles. Not the poeple who make it and sell it. If you didn’t outlaw them, then sue yourself.

The whole “theory” is flawed, but even if it weren’t flawed, even if everything the climatistas said was true — which it isn’t, not any of it, but even if it was, all of it — why would it be the OIL COMPANIES fault? Isn’t the person putting their FOOT ON THE GAS that is pumping the evil carbon into the atmosphere?

It’s not just a scientific lie we’re dealing with here, but a skewed view of responsibility.

It will be interesting to see if the oil companies have the balls to deny AGW. Betcha they don’t.

This is just another attempt at extortion by a failing state. NY does this all the time against companies doing there. Then they wonder why companies move out of the state. In this case, there is no proof of climate change in CA, so this should be laughed out of court as a fraud.

“I think San Francisco would experience a complete societal collapse if they had no access to lubricants. “

Yes “the Gay Community” is “chafing” at the prospect of the loss of Petroleum Jelly! They need some “synthetic Lube” to avoid the “breakdown of their principal tools.”

For prudent liability, they should stop selling petroleum products in California or to those that would take them to California. Failure might cause any judgements to increase.

With these senseless suits, the problem is in the venue. The judges and juries in California are terribly biased toward idiot claims like these.

A court of law might be a very good forum for true scientists to present verifiable data that challenge and contradict the warmist religious dogma; and, it might be newsy enough that the media can't ignore.

That would depend entirely on who was the Judge and we know how unbiased they are on the Left Coast.

DDT is still illegal based on a Judges decision.

California 39.5 10 1.4 “Other Taxes" include a 1.4 cpg state UST fee (gasoline and diesel), a 2.25% state sales tax for gasoline, a 9.67% state sales tax for diesel, gasoline and diesel rates are rate + local sales tax

With the outlandish taxes that California collects on sales of the demon hydrocarbon fuels. Shouldn't the state actually be defendant #1 ? I doubt any of the top 5 companies they're suing show a 9.67% margin. Cali gets the tax money and the oil companie bear all the expense of drilling/refining/delivery. Cali profits greatly at the expense of California environment in their tax scheme.

The fact that these governments are still using petroleum products should be evidence that they are not interested in reducing carbon emissions. Ask that the suit be thrown out.

The oil companies have invested a lot of money in green energy. SF will lose.
