The Bible is more than clear in its theological claim that Jesus Christ will return to Earth at an undisclosed, future time. In fact, that belief is a central hallmark of the Christian faith.
And the latter point about the timing is essential to highlight, as scripture makes it clear that no one knows exactly when the so-called second coming will unfold. Yet, once again, here we are with some Christians setting a specific date September 23, 2017 for the purported fulfillment of certain prophetic signs or events.
It seems bizarre, considering that the Bible repeatedly and clearly speaks to our inability to know exactly when end-times events and particularly Jesus return will unfold. Matthew 24:36-37 tells us, But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man and Mark 13:32 says the same.
But as I noted in my book The Armageddon Code: One Journalist's Quest for End-Times Answers, time and again throughout history people have sought to ignore these verses and predict exactly when they believe the rapture the belief that Christians will be taken up before cataclysmic, end-times events kick into high gear or the end itself will unfold.

No man knows the hour of His coming, but would that prevent one from guessing right?
Read the Bible.
The Sun is going to expand and burn the Earth to a cinder. In a few billion years.
Read Post#23
Actually according to the Revelation, the stars will fall on the earth and sun being the largest star will burn earth to a crisp
Come to an end? When the sun expands to gobble it up, you bet it will. And it’s only billions of years away!
No.
Next question, please.
Inevitably it will. But probably not tomorrow.
Doomsday predictors, futurists and weathermen. Three jobs where you can be wrong 100% of the time and not get fired.
Did you ever read the bible?
World wide? Perhaps, but how many new birth will occur?
Not even Jesus does. Only the Father does.
Eventually, everyone’s world comes to an end. So sad...
Read the Bible? sure.
Revelation, last chapter.
1000 years of peace and prosperity after Christ’s return and rule.
We win in the end but world does not end.
Nothing stated in the Bible what happens after that.
I think it’s silly that the media is even writing about this nonsense. With the time it took for the guy to write this article he could have done something useful, like count the water spots on the door of his shower.
This date is based on what some Christians believe concerning an astronomical alignment of the Moon, Constellation Virgo, and several planets and stars as the literal Rev 12 “sign of the Woman”.
This is taking place right now, however it is impossible to observe it in the daylight, even at dusk with a waning Moon it would be too bright to see Virgo, the planets and stars.
It IS interesting that the alignment could be construed as Rev 12:1 even though it is not visible — but what occurs in the next verse would be proof of the fulfillment of the 1st prophetic event.
The appearance of the Red Dragon.
Whatever that is it is also a “heavenly sign”, but there is no time period stated between the two signs...could be 1 hour or a 100 years !
You would think red dragon would be something everyone on the planet could observe...not something like an H-bomb detontion in the atmosphere over an ocean. However we might get one of those anyway, courtesy of Rocket Man!
Childish nonsense.
When the time comes, the entire physical creation will be snuffed out in a millisecond, with fervent heat, and a loud noise.
2Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Gibberish!
It was only visible for a minute or two, and then the moon set. This happens with every “New Moon.”
Then the next day the moon is in a different position, and more illuminated.
