Appreciate your detailed responses. Stating facts is not trashing. There is nothing in what I said, that the liberal left does not already know. I don’t think in 2017 they are spending energy or will spend energy on trashing Reagan. 30 years is very long time. Reagan is old history in political time scale.

The immediate agenda of the left is to trash Trump. He is their biggest problem obstructing their agenda. Obamacare, the Wall, Islamic terrorists, Foreign trade deficits nearing Trillion every year, cap & trade, are the issues on which they resent Trump the most.

And the fact remains, that after Reagan’s blanket amnesty for all illegals, the influx of illegals accelerated. My best guess is now we have in excess of 30 million illegals in the country, taking jobs away from citizens at lower wages, sponging off the welfare system, degrading & burdening schools, and worse of all committing crimes which we do not need from illegals. We have enough crimes from US citizens already.

Entropy12, I live just outside Los Angeles. I have witnessed buses being filled will illegal aliens to be driven to the border and expelled from our nation. It was happening by the buss-load possibly a number of them, every single day.

Under GHW Bush, this stopped. It never restarted.

There used to be raids of businesses, arresting and deporting illegal aliens. This stopped. It never restarted.

Now you're here to tell me, it's Reagan's fault. You site the stats of how the illegal populace grew, and have no idea what your talking about.

Our illegal alien population grew because there was very little enforcement. Inland, you had to practically go into a police station and tell them you were an illegal. Even then, if you hadn't committed a crime, they wouldn't take you into custody.

During arrests, they stopped asking if people were here illegally. When doing crime scene interviews, they quit taking people into custody who were illegal aliens.

This was not all Reagan's fault. Under Reagan all these things were taking place, and Reagan signed that bill increasing penalties to prevent illegal immigration.

Not only were those laws not enforced, they stopped enforcing any illegal immigration laws inside our nation.

At the border, sure they kept up what I consider to be a token effort. When they sent in more agents to beef up the border, they all went to work inside at the station. Apprehensions did NOT increase exponentially due to the new officers.

Do you have yearly illegal alien immigration stats from roughly 1988 to 1992? Do you have them from 1992-2000? Can we compare the numbers of illegals coming across the border during those years? No!

You don't know that the numbers spiked as soon as Reagan signed that bill. You don't know if they started or not roughly 1990-92, after it became clear Bush was going to open our doors to illegals and not send them back.

You comments about this being Reagan's fault ars baseless. You've developed a talking point that you know will rub others the wrong way, and you're running with it.

Further, when talking about this issue, it's best to address the people who currently do things to impact the situation negatively. It's best to talk about inland enforcement and beefed up border control.

It's best to address Liberals, Leftists, and RINOs. Who do you address? President Ronald Reagan.

That's a Lefist Democrat talking point.

If you're here to tarnish Reagan's legacy, you're in the wrong place. He was the best president we've had in the last 100 years, and you're go-to position is one that blames Reagan first before anyone else.

What he did was necessary. I didn't want it at the time, but the laws he signed into place would have stopped illegal immigration in it's tracks, if enforced.

Quit blaming him for the results of 27 years of no-enforcement.

Reagan was a great man. He did everything he could for you and I, and the rest of the nation. He deserves better than to have someone like you smear him without considering all the facts, or denying all of them to do it.
