Young Frankenstein certainly was racist and homophobic....

Really? /s
Mel Brooks would be financially and socially destroyed for making Blazing Saddles today. The movie would not see the light of day, and you’d never hear from Mel Brooks again.

Blazing Saddles was a recruitment film for Nazis.

The best retort to an offensive, racist joke, is an even morre racist, offensive joke directed back at the original person. Everybody wins.

Sure is.
But Blazing Saddles has the N word in it.
So no, it would not be made today.

Maybe as a drama it could work as a period piece.

Blazing Saddles is interesting in that it depicts the white guys as stupid rednecks and bumbling fools and the black guys as smart and sophisticated.

I found the DVD years ago and bought it. Some movies need to be saved for the grandchildren, that’s one of them. My grandson is 17, time for him to watch it. :)

I’m Catholic and the inquisition scene from History of the World kills me :)
“Let’s face it. You can’t talk him outta anything!” lol
Blazing Saddles. “You sissy marys”
lol!!
Dropping 5 of the 15 commandments :) He’s Jewish and he went there. Always liked his movies.
As an aside that no one will care about :), I had a Jewish pal tell me 20 years ago that there are like 600 commandments.

Liberals are destroying everything they touch, including comedy. The politically correct utopia is filled with miserable, vindictive, depressed people all trying to toe the ever-moving line. I miss the good ol’ USA.
