With most Republicans backing the Graham/Cassidy healthcare bill, there is at least one Republican senator who's still vocal in his opposition. His name?
Senator Rand Paul.
Unlike his colleagues, who don't take their promises to American voters seriously, Senator Paul continues to call for the complete and total repeal of ObamaCare, the horrendous health care bill pushed through Congress by former President Obama and his Democratic allies.
I was thinking this all sounds familiar...amnesty?#GrahamCassidyِ: Amnesty for Obamacare.
Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) September 19, 2017
"No one wants to repeal ObamaCare more than I do," the senator from Kentucky writes at FoxNews.com. "As a career physician, there are few in Congress who have as much firsthand experience on all sides of the health care debate as I do. Ive voted for repeal. Ive sponsored my own Repeal and Replace plans."
However, he goes on: "Ive also led the fight to stop and block ObamaCare Lite' plans offered in both houses of Congress this year. These have been plans that have spent nearly as much money as ObamaCare, that left most of the taxes and regulations in place, and basically failed to honor our promise of repeal."

Yeah, because Grahamnesty has our best interests at heart.
Rand Paul you idiot. But “Muh principles”
Earth to Rand. Earth to Rand. If you haven’t noticed the GOP is useless and will not pass repeal/replace. Even in 2 years their still won’t be 50 Senators to do it. Take what we can NOW.
I live in AZ and my premiums have skyrocketed up 113% last year. You are content with ObamaCare. Doesn’t affect you one bit. This bill allegedly would save Americans on average $4500 per year. Looks like my premiums will go up again.
The money is confiscated first from the states by Washington, and then redistributed back to the states with Washington mandates and strings attached.
Yep more kabuki. He’s so conservative that we’ll be left with bamycare when he’s finished.
Exactly. There’s some kind of deadline for getting rid of Obamacare coming up on September 30. This alternative sounds pretty weak, but it’s got to be better than being stuck with Obamacare forever. Rand Paul has a screw loose.
So keep Obamacare in place and let it implode then.

How does redistributing money back to the states that was confiscated from them in the first place helps lower your premiums?

No, because Republicans will get blamed and sued by the leftist agitator groups.
Just let ACA die of natural causes.
I believe Obama’s feigning anger...he acts angry because he wants this to pass as it saves his commiecare.
Rand isn’t the one to be mad at here...none of them want to end o’care...that’s the truth...they ad us out for their kingdoms...we are serfs.
+1
I don’t think Paul’s all there. He puts on a good show, but there’s a loose screw rattling around in there somewhere.
Don’t distract yourself with tangiential matters.
Hey, I'm just chillin'. Don't care what the stupid Republicans do. If they want to commit political suicide and own the fragments of Obamacare be my guess. I'm just the canary in the coalmine.
Congress will never let Obamacare implode. They will keep throwing money at it if they have to, maybe even move to single payer. Implosion is not a realistic option.
Rand, just get on the Trump Train and sit down.
LMAO. You really believe that?
Obamacare will fall on its own. Paul is preventing the Congress from replacing Obamacare with a Trumpcare version that is as bad or worse than Obamacare in its own way.
“Id rather they do nothing vs the replace part. Not a good move. Going to bite them in the a**.”
Agreed. Grahamnesty/Cassidy is an effort to save ObummerCare, which is currently swirling around the toilet bowl, by putting a Republican veneer on it.
Repeal it or let it die on its own.
Maybe you’re wrong about this bill.
This explains why premiums are spiraling out of control. Nobody with half a brain is going to pay $14,000/year for coverage with a $10,000 annual deductible ... unless, of course, they have a chronic/recurring medical condition that costs them more than $24,000/year to treat. The insurance companies are only left covering people who already have exorbitant medical bills.
You got that right!
So meanwhile with no chance of repeal in sight and the 50 vote window closing how does Rand suggest we proceed?
In his sanctimony he is leaving millions of Americans with no viable health insurance...hey but at least his heart is pure. He had 7 years to get a plan ready that could pass...crickets..
