A persistent, short, shallow cough can also be a side effect of some medications. The culprit could be an ACE inhibitor for blood pressure. For Hillary, the cough might be tolerable as a side effect because alternative medications are ineffective or have more serious side effects.

Back around 2007, I was given some blood pressure medication and in roughly 90 days...I had this cough which started up. At least once per day...I’d have a five-star cough which would go on for five to ten minutes. I started to go to around-the-clock mints and cough drops, from 6AM to bed-time. I never connected it back to the medication.
Toward the end of 2009, my wife did research and connected it to the medication. I decided to dump the medication....lose 25 pounds, and start a weekly walk ethic. Blood pressure came down, and in six weeks...my cough stopped.
I’ve come across various people since then....having the exact same cough and I explain the whole shallow cough thing. I have no doubt that this is Hillary’s problem and that she’s probably tried two or three other medications and found none work except this one.

A lot of people here were saying her cough was a symptom of something (one of various somethings) which would prove to be fatal within a few months of the election. Oh well.
Coughing is a common problem with ACE inhibitors and may make them unavailable or barely tolerable and unpleasant for patients for whom they are otherwise preferred. Notably, ACE inhibitors have anti-stroke effects that would likely make them strongly recommended for Hillary due to her prior thrombosis. If so, Hillary may have been told to tolerate the cough if possible.
Could be the result of that alternate nostril breathing or whatever she calls it.
Ok, you made me watch a stupid video of Hillary talking without coughing, choking or gagging with a headline that claims the opposite. She’s destroying herself. We don’t need anyone making up crap about her when she is capable of doing it herself.

Was it lisinopril? I took that for awhile and finally made connection to my wretched cough. Nasty stuff.
