A Texas woman has been getting ridiculed online for being “too sensitive” after she blasted the arts-and-crafts chain Hobby Lobby for selling faux raw cotton stalks — which she found offensive.=
“This decor is WRONG on SO many levels,” Daniell Rider posted on Facebook this past Thursday, along with a photo of the phony textile plants.
“There is nothing decorative about raw cotton…A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves,” she said. “A little sensitivity goes a long way. PLEASE REMOVE THIS ‘decor.'”
Rider, who is black, appeared to take the picture of the cotton herself after spotting it at a Hobby Lobby in Killeen, TX.

I read the other day about some administrator apologizing for having something or other cotton in his/her office while interviewing a black. Anymore, being a racist is just a matter of self-defense.

Cotton is a plant, which, I would add, our Dear Lord gave us. It provides comfort and security; it is natural and healthy.
Yes, there were African-Americans who were used in many horrible ways, and that was a terrible chapter in American history.
But let’s not blame a natural gift from the Lord for the sins of our forefathers. This is absolute craziness.

My father-in-law died of a heart attack (his third) while hunting alone (always a bad idea). He started having chest pains and went for his meds...when they found him in his truck in rural Quebec, they found piles of that stupid stuffing on the seat next to him.
He was apparently in too much pain to be able to get to his medicine.
He was a nice man. I feel sad he died alone.
