The NFL would prefer the players now-ubiquitous protests take a back seat to the action this season, but it looks like the league wont get its wish.
If anything, the players seem ready to take their social critique beyond sitting during the national anthem.
Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who is among the ranks of NFL players to sit during the anthem, celebrated a sack Sunday afternoon with a single raised fist.
Bennett was the first Seattle player announced during pregame introductions before the home opener against the 49ers and ****received one of the loudest ovations.**** (NFL fans are becoming pretty much anti-American)
Then he took whats become his usual seat on the bench during the national anthem.
Protesters supporting Bennett, who says he was subjected to racial profiling and excessive force when Las Vegas police detained him last month, gathered outside the stadium.

However, they don't own the team. They don't own the team's uniform they're wearing, nor do they own the field and facilities where they're protesting.
While in uniform on company property, they are at work on company time for which they are being paid.
Making a show of their opinions while in uniform at work on company time is childishly selfish and shows poor character and a lack of judgment and respect.
Their opinions would be better expressed while they are on their own time and wearing their own clothes and at a place other than on company property.
I probably still wouldn't care, but at least I could respect them for their character and I might even watch football again.
Players have used that for years. It's not necessarily political. Or racial.
But it being Bennett, who knows?
Fire them ALL!
Well, they’ve been hard at work preventing “motherhood” for 50 years or more.
Why not apple pie?
The point is simple. When teams looked like that, real men were planning the game for the love of it and those men didn’t bring their ever-ending black “grievances” onto the sidelines and field. Those men were not working to destroy it from within like today’s jerks.
The NFL? Didn’t that used to be a sports league or something??
As usual they are turning Rhodesia into Zimbabwe and then starving to death.
I read about a financial consultant, who served clients that had come into sudden wealth and were having trouble managing it. It happened that he had been approached by, and taken on advising, one pro football player, in addition to his regular roster of doctors and such.
The guy was making millions, but of course he had to concentrate on his game rather than his property. Priorities, and all that. Meanwhile, his family were going out and splurging on houses, cars, and more, expecting him to pay for it. His money was "their" money, of course.
They had gotten used to calling up his accountant and asking for wire transfers all the time, the accountant would call the player to get his approval, and he would just approve. No time to do otherwise, and besides, the drama that would ensue if he refused, well, you know.
So, in effect, the consultant was charging for his services to be the "bad guy" who says "NO!"
Somebody's gotta do it.
Justin Britt is every bit a POS as Bennett.
I really enjoy Tommy Sotomayor. The man tells it like it is. Thanks for the link because I had not seen that one.
I wish my ancestors had not bought them in New Orleans and Charleston auction houses too
Trust me

I feel the same way. And I wouldn’t have a problem if they acted civilly.
If they were to concern themselves with family, values, education, faith, and being productive members of society, I wouldn’t have any problems with them. Instead, they hold this nation back.
Yeah... I thought of that, so I check other stations and there were no problems... I went back after the half and they were speaking English..(?) I check the cable channels top to bottom.. The local NBC affiliate was the only channel carrying the game... (?)
Who the heck knows... I just know that in my area, when I saw it, the first half was in Spanish...
Not all of them are spineless. Jerry Jones has told his players that they will stand and not protest during the national anthem or they won't be on his team any longer.
If Roger Goodell had a brain, he'd ban all protests. There is no right to protest on your employer's time.
Maybe Jerry should treat quitters like Ezekiel Elliott the same.
The NFL could and should stop all this nonsense.
That figures... When your at the bottom of the pit, you'll take what ever's down there...
Like I said.... The hell with'um.!!
Well it’s not as if the Bengals could be any worse with Kaepernick.
I stand corrected. I was viewing a different picture that showed a white guy with a bushy beard standing and his hand on his heart.
Not really. There are a million black klan mambers and maybe a couple of hundred on the white side.
You’re right, he is just as rotten. I was looking at the picture in an above post.
