Following a rash of retirements, House Republican leaders are scrambling to get something done legislatively to convince other frustrated members not to toss in the towel in a tough political environment.
Its not much fun to be a House Republican these days. President Trump has repeatedly taken potshots at their conference. Primary challenges burble on the right. Congress has been unable to pass much meaningful legislation in spite of unified control of Washington. Every trip home means an earful both from liberals furious at their support of the president and conservatives irate theyre not doing enough to support his agenda. And members who havent seen real competition for years face tough races due to Trumps deep unpopularity.
That weighs heavily on Republicans who are on the fence about returning.
The jury may be out for some folks.
Some days it feels discouraging, said Rep. Mark Amodei (R-NV), who told TPM he was likely to run for reelection but admitted his final decision in March was a long ways away.

>>The GOP is Leftist Light.
The Democrats are Transnational Progressives (there are no nations or borders)
The Republicans are Multi-National Corporatist Progressives (there are nations and they are ruled in a fluid manner by borderless corporations)
That’s it. Every other difference is just distraction for the masses.
If they wanted to succeed, they would not have chosen Paul Ryan. They have a few months to figure it out or they and the nation are through.

Four (4) congress critters equals a mass exodus? It actually sounds rather healthy to me.
And just exactly who voted for that leadership?
YOU bring a an excellent point to the table.
These donor dummies need to decide which way they’re going to fall on the sword. Either be pushing hard with the Trump agenda, or just stick with the anti-Trump UniParty Ryan and McConnell.

IMO the above explains what happened w/the new constitution of 1789 which replaced our first constitution, and along with it, the DOI, and the original BOR.
Just My personal opinion.

I agree, and that’s a good point. IMO < this is being raised to advance the idea this is all Trump’s fault. Why he’s so disruptive.
The GOPe leadership would love to have folks think that.
Strangely enough, the most downtrodden right now, the Democrat minority isn’t retiring at elevated rates. Only the Republicans are.
Who is oppressing them? Trump, or is it the failed leadership in the House?
Talking Points Memo is a Leftist website run by commie Josh Marshall. What’s your motivation to post propaganda from this site on Free Republic?
They should worry more about their frustrated voters.
Agreed...
Please do retire!
Do yourselves, and the nation, a big fat favor!
The Constitution has NOT been changed. It has only been ignored and wrested by the Lying left.
The Constitution as written and originally understood and intended must be reinstated as the Supreme Law of the Land in order to restore our Free Constitutional Republic and it WILL be restored.
This article makes it sound like this is a BAD thing. It’s NOT!! Most of these seats are in safely conservative districts. It will be a chance to get fresh blood in the House that will promote conservative agendas. The Tea Party successfully got the GOP the majority. The next step is to ensure a CONSERVATIVE majority.

“Borderless corporations” have nothing to do with national political sovereignty. Don’t get confused. The mostly unconstitutional $4 trillion federal government ARE the bad guys. Free enterprise are the good guys, not the bad guys as the Left would have you think.
The treasonous Left hates national sovereignty because they love power and think Global Totalitarian Government will give it to them. The GOP goes along with it.
A bunch of traitors that need to be thrown out, and will be, as part of the restoration of our Free Constitutional republic.
They should be worried about a mass exodus of voters....
If those are Conservative districts, this certain works for me.
