President Trump Applauds Lindsey Graham’s Bill to Repeal Obamacare

President Donald Trump on Wednesday applauded Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Bill Cassidy’s (R-LA) new legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare through block grants.

President Trump released a statement on Wednesday cheering the Graham and Cassidy bill to replace Obamacare. Graham and Cassidy, along with Sens. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Dean Heller (R-NV), and former Sen. Rick Santorum, unveiled their legislation on Wednesday – otherwise known as Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson (GCHJ). The legislation would repeal Obamacare’s individual and employer mandate, Obamacare’s medical device tax, and deliver health care dollars to the states so that they can design a health care system that works best for their local population.

President Trump said:

I applaud the Senate for continuing to work toward a solution to relieve the disastrous Obamacare burden on the American people. My Administration has consistently worked to enact legislation that repeals and replaces Obamacare, and that can pass the Senate and make it to my desk. Obamacare has been a complete nightmare for the many Americans who have been devastated by its skyrocketing healthcare premiums and deductibles and canceled or shrinking plans. As I have continued to say, inaction is not an option, and I sincerely hope that Senators Graham and Cassidy have found a way to address the Obamacare crisis.

A number of governors have come out publicly in support of the new Obamacare repeal legislation. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds endorsed the Graham-Cassidy Obamacare repeal plan in exclusive interviews with Breitbart News. Herbert declared that the bill was a “vast improvement over the Affordable Care Act.” Graham told Breitbart News that at least 14 governors support the Graham-Cassidy Obamacare legislation.

Oh great! Corruption on a grand style at the state level instead of the federal level.

Repeal, do not repair, do not replace.

State control is always better than federal.

It’s not bad with the states if we can get buying across state lines..it’s not federally run...and the truth is majority citizens won’t accept a clear repeal.

Let the states deal with it..the conservative states will have a better plan and California can just go bankrupt.

Some states will never live within their means (the block grants) - California for example, will fund gender reassignment surgery before they’ll fund bypasses.

Regardless, you are in favor of taxing my health care to pay for the poor, that is the core of Obamacare, without the mandate that cost just goes up.

Yep, it is now given that government gives us healthcare. Repealing the government interventions that have pushed healthcare costs out of control is apparently off the table. Where is insurance sale across state lines?

Where is getting away from the deduction for employer-provided insurance, which politically could only be done in tandem with personal income tax cuts for the middle class—that they are now talking about doing without getting away from federally deducted employer-provided insurance?

The opportunities are there—and they are not taking them — or even getting government out via repeal.

Pretty amazing that the person we elected to NOT play nice with all the scumbags in DC, is certainly warming up to all of them. time will tell, if we were all conned. Although, it looks like we might not have to wait that long.

Why do they keep saying “repeal” in reference to these bills?!? Not even close! Unless they get rid of the “EHB’s”, the individual mandate (not just switch the penalty from the IRS to the insurance co.) and the “age 26 mandate”, etc, etc. it is not a “repeal bill”.
