The case of a Minneapolis police officer who shot and killed an Australian woman in July has been handed over to prosecutors for possible charges, investigators and prosecutors announced Tuesday. Officer Mohamed Noor fatally shot Justine Damond, a 40-year-old life coach who was engaged to be married, on July 15 after she called 911 to report a possible sexual assault in the alley behind her home. Noor's partner, Officer Matthew Harrity, told investigators that he was startled by a loud noise right before Damond approached the driver's side window of their police SUV. Harrity, who was driving, said Noor then fired his weapon from the passenger seat, hitting Damond. Noor has not spoken publicly about the case. His attorney did not immediately return messages left by The Associated Press. In a statement Tuesday, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said his office has received the case and 'several senior prosecutors will now carefully review the case file to determine what, if any, charges might be brought.' Freeman has said he expects to decide on charges before the end of the year.

To hell with him. I didn’t say I cared what happened to him lol.
He’s either a coward or a racist. Or both!
“Her manner of dress may have been a factor.”
Yes. Any normal non-Mudslime cop would have realised a 40 year old white woman in a nightgown was a totally innocent citizen out to help him stop a possible crime and would have treated her with great respective and consideration. Instead, this bigoted monster murdered her in cold blood.
It's legal to withhold evidence from a jury?
Either that, or he’s been clearly told his job’s on the line unless he lies to protect this AA murderer. It takes a Hell of a lot to ignore horribly damaged ear drums. I’ve been close to large caliber handguns, without hearing protection, when they discharge, but nowhere as near as that cop was. It’s a very painful and definitely memorable experience. That’s why I profoundly hope I never have to discharge the defensive .357 magnums I carry in my vehicle.

If so, it would make him an accomplice.
Speaking of hearing damage cause by the nearby discharge of a firearm, my hearing was permanently damaged when firing an Ml Garand, 30-caliber rifle without ear protection (it was not allowed) during Army basic training in 1961. I wonder how many other vets have suffered similar damage.
That cop who was driving probably still has a serious ringing in his ears. I can’t get that visual of the muzzi cop reaching across the other cops face and firing his weapon. Maybe he didn’t reach across and shot past his head which is even more troubling.
Agreed. Sure sounds like the fix is in.
Still haven't seen anything from his partner. Not. One. Word.
I would use a hogs hide, there has to be a slaughter house some where near by.
Pretty much all of us, and I got that extra special privilege of listening to the 105’s and 155’s up close and personal.
I remember seeing combat footage from WWII and Korea in which soldiers/marines put their fingers in their ears when firing artillery. Not seeing combat, firing an M-1 on the range was enough to do a number on my ears.
He had no idea what or whom he was shooting at when he pulled the trigger.
You don’t shoot at an unknown target.
Wasn’t he riding with his weapon unholstered and on his lap? Or was that just an unsubstantiated rumor? I seem to recall reading that in an article.
Plus who fires inches away from his partners face? Inside a patrol car? They must have both been rendered temporarily deaf. Guy has always sounded to me like a jumpy panicky Barney Fife. He hears a noise and “BLAM!”
But it's hard for me,at least,to imagine that cop (or his partner),coming up with a plausible explanation for this particular shooting.
It was discouraged at ROTC summer camp in 1964 when I attended. However, I suck cotton gobs into my ears and got away with it.
If this were an everyday citizen (read: not a cop), they’d be rotting in jail waiting for a trial date.
The taxpayers will inevitably have to foot the bill for another fearful cretin with a badge. So what if he is also a koranimal? The blue fraternity supersedes his mohammedness.
Let’s eliminate cop’s personal immunity from civil action, just as doctors have to carry malpractice insurance, police officers should be required to carry professional liability insurance as a condition of employment. Can’t find an insurance company willing to insure you...find another line of work.
I tried the same. The sergeant on the firing line asked me what was in my ears. "Cotton, sergeant," I replied "Who told you to put it there," he asked. "Nobody," I replied. "Get it out," he ordered.
“End of the year” that’s code for “We’re waiting until the third week of December, when we’ll release the ‘no charges’ finding late on a Friday, when we hope everyone will be out Christmas shopping, or at their kids’ Christmas plays, or an office party, and not paying attention to our miscarriage of justice.”
