We have a great Constitution, and next Sunday, Sept. 17, we celebrate its 230th anniversary on Constitution Day. But which Constitution will we celebrate?
Among the ingenious features of our national governments operating manual are its separation and limitation of powers and its built-in checks and balances. But one often-overlooked virtue of our Constitution is its relative simplicity. Think about it: The blueprint for the most powerful nation on the planet can be easily published in a pocket-sized pamphlet that is lighter than a deck of cards and can be read and understood by the average citizen in the space of a half-hour.
Today, however, upon spending the requisite half-hour to read our Constitution, the average American would conclude that he or she had missed something, judging by the vast discrepancy between the limited national government described in the Constitution and the actual operation of our government today.
The pocket Constitution says that all the legislative powers it grants are vested in Congress. Yet, we live beneath the weight of 95,894 pages of rules and regulations enacted not by Congress, but by bureaucrats.

Which Constitution do you want to celebrate this Constitution Day? We were never meant to be a nation in which only a small group of elite professionals can understand the operation of our government. As we celebrate Constitution Day, lets commit to actually doing something to honor our Constitution. By using Article V to authoritatively overturn the illegitimate changes that have vandalized it, we can restore that audacious system of self-governance born of a Constitution that we can all know and understand, because it fits inside our pockets.
We, the people, have the power to do this, if we can muster the will. Visit Convention of States to learn more.

Article V ping!
“Article V ping!”
Let’s Roll.
President Trump cannot, by himself, drain the swamp.
If he could, it would be admission that the republic is gone.
With President Trump’s leadership, We the People and no one else can drain the swamp.
That’s a good point.
“We The People” created the swamp.
This is from a resent article here on FR by NICK PANDELIDIS. It was called "Poverty of the soul helps fuel opioid crisis." It was From the YORK DAILY RECORD..
As long as we allow the "Progressive Left" to continue push our young folk farther away from God and toward government as the provider of liberty the worse it's going to get... The final outcome can only lead to one thing. Absolute tyranny.....
The electoral process every two years is inadequate to the restoration of first principles. Scotus and the Administrative State laugh at elections. Its why I chose not to vote in the congressional portion of the 2016 election.
Scotus, not the people, banned God from public spaces. I’m just about ready to ban Scotus.
Good government fits well inside my pocket, and the two extra mags fit quite well in the opposite pocket.
Or at least in shoulder holster under a well tailored suit jacket.
Bad government always has its hands in our pockets.
Aticle V => The only antidote to our Parliament of Whores.
Exactly. I want a government that is so small I almost never have to think about it.
Don’t ban SCOTUS, just put a time limit on their terms.
Say 15 years, then they have to be renominated.
If they have done a reasonably good job of enforcing the laws as written in the constitution they should have a reasonably good chance of being reaffirmed.
You could win some or lose some, just remember our choice of President and Senators are what make or break our courts.
At least we wouldn’t have to wait for some of these bastards to die in their chairs.
I’d forgotten about that PJ O’Rourke book.
