Until such time as a deal with Lerner surfaces and produces something that rids us of Koskinen, talk of a deal is just another of the “Trump is playing 11D chess while they’re playing checkers” lame explanations for something that was not supposed to happen with him as President. It’s starting to get old.
He is a disappointment. But given the current "situation", can we honestly expect his replacement would be any better? I can't think of any recent appointment that's even worth as much as a bucket of warm piss.

I would think the same but I know the President has awesome lawyers advising him so we should expect there’s more to the story.
That ‘more to the story’ I would guess would be Mueller. Mueller wants to get into the President’s tax returns. It would seem therefore possible that misdeeds unearthed on Koskinen would clear a way to sack him without a political firestorm.
Mueller is a deadly snake that will take advantage of every opportunity, twisted or fictional, to lay into Trump.
I see voluminous calls from GOP stalwarts over many months calling for getting rid of Koskinen. I also see reports that the President wants to get rid of Koskinen. So we can bet something else is afoot and it isn’t the President.
Lerner's involvement was sort of a peripheral issue, IMO. The real problem is the vast numbers of Holder's People who are employed by the IRS, most of whom happily obstructed the processing of any "Tea Party" or similar group's documents, because those were seen as opponents of Barack.
They didn't need Lois telling them to do that, so it would've happened with or without her being aware of it. No practical way of dealing with that systemic problem, either, short of mass firings.
Everything about the Justice Department (from the FBI to its federal legal eagles) stinks to high heaven.

What are you talking about? Trump should have requested the resignation of every political appointee from the previous administration on January 20!!! This is expected behavior when a new administration takes office.
