Go somewhere sturdy that’s *not* underground. Storm cellars work great for tornadoes, can be a deathtrap for hurricanes.

Prepare as if you are going to lose power. Pots of rain with significant gusts can cause trees to land on power lines. Procure a generator if possible. Ger bottled water. Gas your car. Fill empty gas cans if possible. No furniture or garbage cans outside. Your basic spring or fall tornado frontnpreparation.

Their new shoes will get muddy. Couldn’t even let the streets dry out.

Probably aren’t the first and definitely won’t be the last. It’ll be like Christmas until people come back and get electricity again to power up their security systems.

Looks like another one in the background. Where are they going to take him/them?

Your threads are so incredibly informative. I don’t have tv but I don’t feel unaware of what’s going on. I appreciate that you “refresh” them in parts.

Some MSM were calling them ‘scavengers.’

The next iteration, since no one knows what ‘gleaners’ means, will be ‘harvesters.’

In my nicest voice: Please post source and location of pics, if you must post pics. Or maybe wait until after the worst of the storm has passed to post photos.

My nicest response:
The source is stamped right on the image. I've circled it in red and put an arrow so you can see it. This appeared on the original image too.

Once IRMA is gone, then comes Jose.

And there is an ominous X near Africa

Saw that image of the manatees earlier on local news. The manatees were nibbling on their sea grass in Sarasota Bay when the bottom fell out of the fish bowl.

A dry cleaning business in Sarasota is losing its roof already.
