The entire Florida Peninsula and points north are poised to experience Hurricane Irma after the storm hugged Cuba's northern coastline. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Hurricane Irma's prolonged interaction with Cuba diminished its strength to Category 3.
Irma is forecast to increase in strength as it crosses the FL Straits. The Florida Keys experienced strong outer bands while Irma grazed the N Cuba coastline.

I fear the keys from Siesta Key up through Anna Maria Island are in that zone of being wiped out and never the same again, especially if the more current tracks hold and the eye passes about over them.
They are so low and so narrow. There’s just nothing there to protect them.

If these tracks sending it into the panhandle and Alabama prove out some heads need to roll. So many people and livestock have evacuated into Alabama. We will be caught flat footed. People in the panhandle and south Alabama will have no where to go or time to get there. We will not only be having to save ourselves but all of our guests. I pray the “experts” have not fubared this.

Weather fronts don't steer hurricanes. Surface winds steer hurricanes. Weather fronts are exotropoical. A weather front will actually destroy a hurricane and turn it into an exotropical cyclone. That's not happening for a while.
The winds come into the eye at the surface, rise up through the eye, and then flow outward.
Have you ever looked into them? I have. Way more money than I have. I would so love one though.
