The entire Florida Peninsula and points north are poised to experience Hurricane Irma after the storm hugged Cuba's northern coastline. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Hurricane Irma's prolonged interaction with Cuba diminished its strength to Category 3.
Irma is forecast to increase in strength as it crosses the FL Straits. The Florida Keys experienced strong outer bands while Irma grazed the N Cuba coastline.

It’s probably accurate. I think the steering for Irma is going to be more at the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere.
I just saw a JUMP due north at the 1230 am GMT intellicast carrib sat

Check it out look at eye
I’m sitting in Atlanta... bugged out from Delray Beach. Not worried about some little cat 1 storm if it is even that when it gets here.
50 or so animals tethered to trees or poles rescued
Yeah looks like it’s heading north to me.
Irma has been dealing with concentric eyewalls as of late, and I think we are seeing rotation of the inner eyewall within the outer eyewall.
I could NEVER drive over that-——ever.
.
Looks to me like it’s headed to the gulf.
Or global warming makes hurricane prediction more difficult, therefore Irma is proof that global warming is real.

Ditto.
The left would go absolutely insane if they saw this photo, and would start screaming at the rest of us about separation of church and state. The media would take their side.
Was hoping they would do that.
Winds back up to 125mph with pressure still at 932mb. Yep, a wobble to the North. Time will tell.
You are seeing two events there. Eyewalls collapse and rebuild over and over. The other event is sundown over that part of the earth.
Excellent. My friend who got chased there from West Palm Beach talked mostly about the travel part, not the storm.
I have relatives just South of Tampa. They were going to ride it out in their new construction house in a C zone. They decided to leave early this afternoon, now stuck on the road with no hotel reservations. Hopefully they can outrun the thing and get north of ATL when it hits.
Another jog or movement north ... too early to tell, per TWC. Movement north occurs overnight.
The media IS the left so of course..President Trump and his Administration love this country that is why Trump works so hard to help out those affected by these hurricanes, he hates to see people suffering he is a good man and so is VP Pence
What does that portend?
ps. Thank you for the outstanding gif’s and graphics.
