I have relatives just South of Tampa. They were going to ride it out in their new construction house in a C zone. They decided to leave early this afternoon, now stuck on the road with no hotel reservations. Hopefully they can outrun the thing and get north of ATL when it hits.

Just spoke to my brother in Tampa. Their elevation is high enough that there is no danger from storm surge. Most in his neighborhood are riding it out. He is just north of I-4 off I-75 in proximity to University of South Florida. Most of the houses in this area have tile roofs so there is a danger of them blowing in the wind.
